WOMEN--avoid this salon, as enticing as the price seems. I speak cantonese and was able to communicate with the stylist but she still ruined my hair. I had long hair, and asked only to shorten the top layers and thin out the bottom a little, but to keep the length. Her method was to grab a razor (the kind from barber shops with the handle), and lop at my entire hair randomly. She started with the bottom layer, dragged the razor down the length of my hair at random starting points from my scalp, and did this through each and every layer. Did not frame my layers to my face at all. No technique. Did not even touch the pair of scissors. Only the razor. Now my hair is a medium length mess.
My friend introduced me to come here for a haircut and I was very satisfied with hairstyle the barber helped me with. Everyone praised me for being handsome and younger. I will definitely come here again.
High and tight is how I like my hair cut. Many barbers simply use a number 0 comb on their clipper but not here. It was an older Chinese gentlemen that cut my hair but he did it right. He finished the sides and the back of my head using a smaller clipper without any attachments. It's not skin close but good enough for an $18 cut including shampoo. I tipped him $7 so for $25, it's as good a haircut you can get especially for the price. Some comments stated the place is not modern and that it's located in a not so pretty area of Chinatown but who gives a sh*t? I was born in Chinatown so maybe location doesn't bother me. So if you want a good value haircut, look no further.
Great value, no frills haircut. I came in on a Saturday and had to wait about 15 minutes for a chair to open. They don't speak English, but I showed the guy in the second chair from the door a picture of my last haircut and he nodded. He did a very good job, and it's a lot cheaper than my normal haircut. You pay the lady in the back and she gives you a token to give to the person who cut your hair + your tip. I'll be coming back!
