Zen Grooming (Previously The Red Dog Salon) in Amelia, OH

Everytime I have called there since the new ownership I have only been able to get my cat groomed 1 time in a yr, awful service

I had an appointment at 12 noon. I called at 1:30 and they hadn't even started on my dog yet.

I am horrified the way my Australian Shepherd turned out. This was our first, last, and only time we will patronize this groomer. Aussies are double coated and should never be shaved because it ruins their guard hairs and they are unable to regulate the body temperature without it. They asked if I wanted a WINTER CUT and I said yes. Unbeknownst to me, cut meant shave and my dog is now naked the day before a massive snowstorm. I am furious but there's nothing I can do. The lady told me that I never said not to shave her, but I assumed (yes, I know what that means) that every reputable groomer should know not to shave a double coated dog. At the very least they should ask if I wanted her shaved. They also told me it would be around $40, but I was charged $55. From now on, I will drive 25 minutes to my previous groomer who knew better. Grrrrr FYI, I have since discovered that my dog now has post-shave alopecia (yes it's a real thing.) Her bare spots remain bare. Short of putting her on canine alopecia meds. There's nothing I can do!

We have been going to the Red Dog Salon for many years now. They treat our animals just like their own. We have our dog and cat shaved and it really cuts down on the hair in the house. I can imagine shaving an cat is not easy, and there is never any shave burns or cuts. They are very reasonably priced and are very accommodating.

We were looking for a new groomer was our groomer retired. Red Dog was a referral that turned out to be an amazing grooming visit. Zoey was breathing heavy or anxious as she previously was when groomed before. We will be going back to Red Dog Salon. Thanks Linda and staff.
