Witch Hazel in Indianapolis, IN

I always have such a fabulous time going to Witch Hazel! I needed a new stylist because my stylist (and salon) shut down for business. It's so scary finding someone you gel with and can trust with your hair, but I've enjoyed my services so far. Olivia Neely does my trimming and styling (and hasn't missed yet!!) and Mel Moss has done my coloring (y'all, she is insane). Salon is expensive but the vibe, inclusivity, and experience here is unmatched.

Jenn has been my hairdresser for 2 years now and I absolutely love her. Jenn is an expert at hair extensions and color dye, she gives excellent advise on hair color. The atmosphere is very nice and friendly. I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

I don't want to waste too much time on this, and I went back and forth on whether I should post this or not. However, I feel too many consumers (including myself) are afraid to speak their mind on a service they pay for. So here we go.

I went to witch hazel for 2 years. While I do think my stylist was very talented, no one is perfect--and that's okay! What makes a good working relationship is communication, taking ownership, and honesty. Before I was "banned" from Witch Hazel for "having too high of expectations for my very busy stylist to meet," I went back to have her adjust a very uneven haircut. I'm not sure if I was looking down while she was cutting or what exactly happened, but I had a very choppy, uneven haircut that had never happened in my two years. I had just purchased brand new hair that day--which was very expensive. I scheduled an appt to see if it could be fixed. While adjustments made helped some, she had to take about 2 inches off to make it even. I asked the stylist if at my next move up I could *potentially* get new hair at a slightly discounted price due to the cut being too short (part of the reason I get extensions is for a little length). My stylist (who is also part owner of the salon) said, "we can talk about that at the next appt." My next appt never came bc I was called by the salon manager who was sitting with one of the owners of the salon (not my stylist/owner) to tell me I am no longer allowed to have my hair done by ANY stylist at witch hazel due to needing "too many fixes." I will admit, there have been a few times over the past couple years where a stitch came loose, my weft was popping up and exposed, small other fixes that took my stylist about 5 min to fix.

I was told to go to a salon lofts to have my current extensions removed, because I wasn't allowed to come back in for even that service. You would think I did something completely terrible to not even be allowed back for a removal.

Unfortunately this all happened around the holidays and many stylist's books are full. However, I was able to find a new girl who is listed on Covet and Mane's site as a "coveted professional stylist." She was WONDERFUL and looking forward to my next appointment--so maybe it was fate! Never be afraid to speak the truth even if it's gets you cancelled.

Update: I'm still getting private messages from people asking for the names of the hairstylists who worked on me. I'll just share that the first hairstylist I mentioned no longer works there, and the second is one of the owners. The work of the second hairstylist is shown in the photos I attached to my previous review.

Well, all I can say is I expected one thing for 1 year and they day had finally come for a complete transformation! Last minute(literally) I received another color of extensions, dark brown and I paid for and chose bright blonde! . The owner was rude, smug, and hurtful. Treatment from her was as if she was superior to me. I went there many times and was satisfied. My last visit I was polite, even though they mislead me for what I was getting and gave me only 2 options, take out my brand new extensions or LEAVE  and NEVER come back because " a since of trust had been broken" I've bitten my tongue and didn't want to put them on blast as I loved my personal hair dresser JESS, until she stood behind me silently watching the abuse and full well knowing they mislead me, I was stunned, I cried real tears, shocked, mortified, treated as I'd I had done something wrong. I decided to leave and never go back. As yes, trust had been broken at that time. As women we shouldn't treat one another this way. Never go to this place! They do not care about you, they only see $$$$!!!! Trust me, I promise this isn't a vindictive post. It's bare bones honesty. If "witch" Hazel likes it or not.  This is actually the first poor review I've ever written on anyone. If I could give zero stars, I would. The humiliation and trauma inflicted upon me was beyond me! I paid for one thing, I got another. I actually shook the owners hand and departed as a lady saying no cross words. But, here if your reading this, take heed my friends.
