WELL Spa + Salon in Lake Geneva, WI

This place was GREAT! Booked a couples massage here for my bf and I and we were greeted so well, the locker rooms were clean and spacious, the whirlpool felt just right and the staff was very professional. For the couples massage, we were very well attended and they knew what they were doing .

The spa experience needs SIGNIFICANT attention. The locker room area is loud and extremely bright and NOT relaxing in the least. I did try to take into consideration that this area is also used by people as a "locker room" for the gym etc and not just for spa guests. There were apparently 3 bridal parties in the day I was in. The area was loud, out of literally everything (wet clothing bags, towels, granola, even water) and a total mess. Towels and robes piled everywhere, floors soaking wet, and bridal parties with phones out taking photos in the locker room as well (TOTALLY UNACCETABLE). The amenities in the showers were gone and the showers were filthy with hair on the walls and grime & dirt on the floors. When I told a spa attendant she responded with "we've been super busy today, we had 3 bridal parties". I wanted to respond with that's great but I have paid to be here too, but held my tongue. Massage therapists were fantastic but again after a massage environment not relaxing at all. The area needs to be remodeled desperately. The sauna and steam room both have door/entry molding that is deteriorating/molding and edges/ceilings/dry wall around doorways and entries is compromised. The sauna is missing a floor slat and has numerous loose floor slats that could cause serious injury to guests on the interior. The steam room interior is in better shape but has a funky smell. (could benefit from a eucalyptus or some other essential oil spray inside for guests to use) Disappointed in everything but the massage therapists actual service. The rest needs a serious overhaul with attention to form, function and guest privacy (phones should never be permitted in a locker room)/relaxation. Will be travelling to Kohler or Sundara for future spa appointments in Wisconsin.

Pros: * Easy online booking and lots of appointments available. * My hot stone message therapist, Kim, was fantastic! Cons: * The facilities were incredibly outdated. * Felt more like a nasty medical clinic than a spa. * There was nothing at all luxurious about my treatment. * The bathroom door hooks were broken. * Some of the locker buttons did not work. * Robe and slippers look like they had seen better days. * No one caters to you upon check-in. You are offered water, tea, or coffee, Have to pay for champagne. (The upcharge when you are spending $280/hr. is absurd.) Check in was also very crowded without enough staff. * No decor other than some plastic candles. Recycle and trash bins everywhere. I am so disappointed. I really wanted to love my experience here. I live close by and was hoping to use the facilities on a frequent basis.

I called to book a couples package and I spoke to a woman on the phone who asked us to be there 30 min early and we could use the hot tub and sauna room. When we got there, we found out that the hot tub and sauna were in each of the locker rooms and we couldn't do it together. Kind of a bummer. We waited in the "relaxation lounge" which was just a bunch out outdoor furniture. The facial and massages we got were amazing though. Staff was very friendly and professional. Mani and pedi were nice but the lady who did my manicure didn't have me sit and wait long enough and ruined my polish as soon as I got back to the locker room. We leave to check out and they run my card on file with the 20% gratuity charge which we agreed to. Got our receipt and the was $132 service fee which was never mentioned?! So for two people, a facial, massage, mani/pedi we spent over $900! Waaaaaay overpriced!

My daughter and I recently spent a day at the spa. The facility itself is pretty worn, but the staff tries very hard to please. All our services - massage, body exfoliation, mani, pedi - were good. My main reason for not being eager to return was the noise level. It was hard to relax unless we were receiving a treatment. The 'relaxation' room was anything but. Several women were yucking it up, making it impossible to rest. Upon request a staff member showed my to a 2nd relaxation area, but it was right next to where the supplies were kept, so noisy as well. We had to eat our lunch we ordered in the locker room because the one table was occupied. Staff did comp us a mimosa - very nice! - and I received a discount on my last treatment as the technician's car broken down, causing her to run late. Also very nice - but I was left sitting around for longer than I would have liked. With no place to relax... I just prefer when a much-needed spa day goes smoothly from beginning to end.
