Was really happy with my experience here! I don't often leave reviews, but Patrick was knowledgeable, listened to exactly what I wanted, and explained exactly how he styled my hair and why. I asked for bangs and he was honest with me and said it makes more sense to see how I like my haircut first, given that I'm growing it out, and said if after I adjust to it if I still wanted it he'd do it for free, just to make sure I didn't jump into anything I would regret while growing out my hair. Really felt like he cared enough to be honest with me. He cut it dry and then did a deep conditioning which left my hair super super soft!! When I got home I saw so much added volume. I hadn't had a haircut in over a year and it looks so much better. Not to mention he is very kind & lovely to talk to :) Thanks Patrick & I'll see you next time I'm in the area!

Patrick is exceptional in his experience with color and working with a huge range of hair types. He is always super friendly & professional. I have seen Patrick off and on (due to where I lived/worked) for over 30 years! My hair is particularly challenging to color & cut. Some stylists can do one or the other well; it's rare to find anyone who can do both well. Patrick listens to me, and I've always left really happy with his work!

The professionalism with which Patrick responded to my 4 year old comment is the same professionalism he used during my experience at the salon. On a more positive note: I have had several people message me with similar experiences and questions for where they can get a good dry cut in the area. I have since had great luck at Glamourama in Northampton. I would NOT come to this salon for a Deva cut. He did not cut my hair dry and curl by curl. It was just a standard hair cut. I left the salon really dissatisfied although I initially told Patrick that I liked it. I didn't want to offend him and he was so nice during my visit. Plus it's just awkward! I really wanted to like it and be done with it. I gave the new do a week to see if my impression would change. It did not. I went in to speak with him and asked for a refund. He refused and said that he would wash my hair and put product in it and that that was the best he could do. I told him that the problem was that I paid for a service I did not receive and thus lost my faith in getting my hair done there if he didn't do it the first time....The whole point of a Deva cut is to cut it when the hair is DRY and in its true form. My hair looks fine when wet and/or with product in BUT when it is completely dry it takes on a whole different shape! He kept saying that it looks good and that I need to use Deva products to get the look. He was missing the point. I do not think it looks good AND I should be able to use my Mixed Chicks products or wear my hair as in and still like the look. Had he cut it in its original state this would not be an issue. He also did not cut it curl by curl.My hair did have damage but my curls are defined enough where he could have done the actual technique. Overall, he was defensive and refused to give me a refund, even a partial one. I spent $65 and tipped 20% and suggested a $20 refund since he did put in work and my hair isn't a complete disaster. However, I did not get the service I researched beforehand and paid for. He refused for some time but then pulled out a $10 bill and placed it on the counter and said "That's the best I can do." I felt extremely insulted and cheap. It was not about the money, it's the principal. If you say its $65 for a Deva cut and I pay $65 I should get the correct technique done. Then he walked away and grabbed a Deva conditioner bottle and handed it to me. I should have given it back because why use Deva product if I did not receive a Deva haircut! Basically, my hair is the same (no shape) and shorter. The whole interaction was tacky on his part and he was just not getting the fact that regardless of it all I am dissatisfied and did not get the treatment I thought I was getting. I even showed him a picture of me right after the appointment, in front of his salon and he said that it wasn't right after...You can literally see parts of the signage in the photo. He was completely in denial and not willing to accept that he did a half job and that I was dissatisfied.

Patrick works serious magic! I went in yesterday for a Deva cut(which is usually very hard to come by) and I'm so glad I did. I started my natural hair journey two years ago and did the big chop. Unfortunately for me, I did the haircut myself and it grew out horribly. But the mess on my head didn't scare Patrick away and he started right away. He cut my hair exactly how I wanted him to. Now my curls are so shiny, healthy, and bouncy. He's also such a sweet man and easy to talk to! My hair thanks you Patrick! And, of course, I couldn't leave without buying a couple of Devacurl products. Would definitely recommend. Especially for people with curly hair not looking to spend $85+ for a devacut.
