Just had a walk-in bikini wax there. The lady was friendly however my skin has several breakouts afterwards. She didn't wear gloves during the whole process. And I'm not even sure if the towel she used is clean, and also the products are organic, or even just gentle. I won't go there anymore.

I love giving good reviews for services. I wish I could here. First impression was bad when booking Lori told me to always call companies before buying their Groupons. She explained that she wouldn't get paid for the Groupon I redeemed with her. She told me I should have called her before I bought her Groupon package! She texted me at 8:30 the night before my appointment. Upon first entering the salon she said I should have replied to her text. She reminded me again that she wouldn't get paid for the Groupon. I asked for a trim, I got inches taken off. The layers don't make sense. When I told her too much was taken off she said it would look better after she dried it. I will need a haircut to fix this mess. She told me she couldn't do the rest of the services I booked (which were part of the Groupon), a mani and facial treatment because she had her next client. She only booked one hour for the services? She asked that I come back at a different time. I will never be back. Check out the salon before you book. She rents space in an cramped and outdated salon. While she offers waxing and facials, there is no separate room.

Not the calming, relaxing atmosphere I expected from an organic salon. The stylist actually works out of another salon, which is itself pretty traditionally salon-y, with chemical smells and tacky decor, loud music, etc -- I was hoping for soothing music and aromatherapy, but no such luck. The package (hair cut, facial, mani) is all done by one woman, which surprised me quite a bit. I bought the Goddess package on Groupon, mostly for the facial (I've never gotten one before) but it ended up being the stylist slathering on products and some hot towels -- nothing I can't and don't already do at home. She did the facial while I was getting my hair conditioned, a smart use of time but not exactly comfortable or relaxing. She gave lots of advice on proper skin care, but I already take fairly decent care of my skin, so I ended up getting a redundant lesson instead of a facial. The haircut was what really ruined the experience. She made a point of asking what I wanted but didn't follow through at all. I explained that I'm getting an up-do for my wedding soon so I only wanted a very small trim, and I ended up with a chin-length bob. I'm honestly nervous that I won't be able to do my hair up for my wedding now, which is devastating and frankly scary. Skipped on the manicure. She did offer to do it for me later, but I'll probably pass. She did an okay job on my eyebrows, which I payed for on top of the groupon voucher, but I'm let down that the one decent part of the experience wasn't what I went to the salon for to begin with. All in all, the groupon post is very misleading, the experience isn't relaxing or rejuvenating, and the stylist didn't listen to my preferences and needs.

If the price seems too good for what you get, it usually is. I wanted to like this place. I wanted to feel like I was treating myself... I went there on a Groupon with the "Goddess Package" -- and definitely did not feel like a goddess after. First, you should know this is not a Day Spa - Shear Bliss is one woman who rents space in a small salon... which was having its windows replaced the day I showed up so it was in a bit of disarray. Whereas I thought I was going in and seeing several different people to get the "Deluxe Hairstyle, Color Revival, Facial, and Manicure" for the package, it was one woman who put extra conditioner in my hair and hot towels on my face and then cut my hair. And I didn't get the manicure that day because "with the window repair, she wasn't set-up for it." Which, I get, but a head's up phone call would have been nice so I could have made the decision to reschedule or not... There were definitely clashes to style and personal preference, which I could understand and excuse. Not every client is going to connect with every stylist. The reason I felt compelled to leave this review is that I have been so disappointed and frustrated with my haircut which even the stylist said "should look nice in a couple of weeks". Not exactly the back-to-school confidence boost I was looking for. Lori, the woman behind Shear Bliss, started off by checking in with me and asking about my hair and what I wanted/liked/disliked. Which I did think was nice and I appreciated, but it was frustrating that after asking me these things, didn't have an effect on how my hair came out. I tried really hard to be clear with what I was looking for, showed a picture, and told her what my hair would do when it dried. After cutting my bangs a couple inches too short, she said she "didn't see that coming" and she'd know for next time. The woman who was in before me seemed very pleased and so maybe you will too - but I *highly* recommend stopping by and checking out the salon to see if it and the stylist match your style first.

Best haircut I've had in years. Friendly service too. They said that what I wrote before was too short for a review, but what lose does anyone need to know. I liked the haircut a lot and Lori was very friendly.
