Randomly booked an appt at Water's Edge since my to-go stylist wasn't available for a few weeks and had a great experience. The owner, Ruby, took great care listening to what I wanted. She did a full head of highlights, simple cut and beautiful wavy blow dry which came out perfectly. I was shocked the total price was half of what I usually pay. I will continue going back to her since she really nailed the exact color I was asking for and has a sweet personality. Female owned business for 23 years. Happy to support.
While the owner and employees are very nice, I was appalled by the price tag of $75 for a gel manicure. For that reason I won't return.
I was out in the Hamptons for the July 4th week and my friend and I decided to get our nails done. Now, mani/pedis are meant to be a relaxing time -- but not at this place! While we waited 10+ minutes for the manicurist to actually show up for our appointment, we wound up having to explain to the one manicurist there how to remove the OPI gel currently on our nails. (Forgive me, but isn't that nail salon 101?!) Instead, they decided that we should just soak our nails in BOWL of straight up acetone for the entire length of our pedicure. (Pretty sure our skin is still burning and our fingers are still flammable days later.) The pedicure itself was fine -- the polish came out OK but the foot massage was lackluster and there were flies that flew around us all the while. As for the manicure, WE scraped off the gel remnants ourselves before they started on our nails. Again, the polish was fine but they definitely could have done a better job painting to the edges and removing the last bits of gel. The kicker came when we went to pay. They had the gall to charge us $73 for a basic manicure/pedicure and proceeded to mock us loudly when we questioned why it was so expensive. All that to say, NEVER going back there again.
These Sisters run a top notch Salon! From hair color, cut, just a simple wash & dry, brows, Manicure, Pedicure - the BEST! I have been going 10+ years and occasionally tried elsewhere if they've been booked. I will now WAIT FOR THEM! They are also GOOD VALUE, for the Services they provide.
