VIP Nails Blakeney in Charlotte, NC

This location may be under new management as my receipt says VIP Nails.  I went today and asked for the simple $35 mani/pedi.  When I went to pay I was told I owed $45.  When I told them I had asked for the $35 package they told me that they gave me the higher package so that is what I owed.   Funny how that works!!   When I had my mani done I had to pull my hand away as the technician almost clipped my skin with my nail.  Then I was told to just sit and let my nails dry because their new drying fans had not come in.   I have been going to this location for at least 3-4 years.  Will not be going back.

Went back to have my nails redone and they did a much better job. Don't like getting anyone fired but the technician who did my nails the first time may need to go through training again.

Had a GEL manicure before vacay.  It started CHIPPING in 3 days!  NEVER had a gel manicure chip before.

I went for a manicure right before going back to school. Previously I had had two great experiences with a fantastic manicurist for a great low price of $15 but both those times I had gone on a very busy day. This time I went on a not as busy day in hopes of getting the same high quality service. However I was disappointed to discover that my beloved manicurist was off that day. I decided to entrust my hands with another manicurist who was I assumed was equally qualified. It male about 50 years old. He was very friendly and nice but as soon as the polish began he really rushed it. He put on the starter clear coat fine and then when putting on my selected color he never wiped the brush off inside the bottle and put way too much polish coated on each finger and then before it had dried he added the topcoat. After he finished the topcoat a woman took me over to the fans and I began my shift at the fan. After my shift at the fan driers I paid and even left a $3 tip because my friend told me that they didn't look too clumpy. As soon as we were in the light of the sun outside the spa, we saw that it was rather clumpy but decided people wouldn't see it up close so I would be fine. However I regretted giving the man any tip at all. After about an hour I noticed that my nail polish was so clumpy that it had never dried at all instead it was a jelly like substance and had smeared numerous times. After I continued shopping I went home and used my thumb and I could simply smear all the nail polish off because after numerous hours it was yet to dry. Once I got it off I googled my situations only to discover that iff too much nail polish is applied it will never dry. Overall it was a crappy experience with an incompetent manicurist. I could have done better at home and that night I did do better.

Best pedicure I've ever had, and I've lived in Charlotte for 9 years. Love the communal setting with pedi chairs in a circle under a glamorous chandelier!
