VIP Dominican Hair Salon in Uniondale, NY

I've been going to this place for 10+ years and sadly they've lost a loyal customer due to a $40 change mis calculation, and this isn't the first time. Then proceeded to look at me crazy like I don't know how much money I came in with, then when I asked if we could check the cameras conveniently none of them are plugged in, literally robbed me, So Do with that What you will but I will be going to Rosys from now on

2016 ***The one star is for stephanie who was my hair dresser and did an amazing job and deserves the only star in my review. First off this place is extremely cheap with the AC, when i walked in the salon it was a complete sauna and i had to request for them to turn the ac on the owner seemed bothered i should've known to walk my ass out of this place rite there and then. They literally had roaches crawling on their walls and the place was very dirty!! I had already started washing my hair so i felt like let me just finish what i already had started but please listen when i tell you " its never too late to walk away" after the attitude, sauna and roaches crawling everywhere the owner charged me 95 dollars for a wash and blow with my clip on extensions. My hair dresser stephanie did a good job but she didn't wash and blow-dry my extensions all she did was flat iron and clip them on! Never ever again i could've just done my hair myself! Stephanie was so embarrassed to even charge me the 95 dollars she looked down to the floor and whispered how much it was. The owner must of seen money signs on my head! The salon owner is a money hungry owner and has a nasty attitude. I don't recommend this dump to anyone!NEVER AGAIN

I took my daughter to this salon to get her hair wash and set. My daughter is six years old. Yes, she was crying because she hates getting her hair done however, the owner was very rude. She told me to do my daughter's hair at home and not to bring her back to the salon. Also she charged me $46 dollars to wash and blow dry a 6 year old hair. THIS PLACE IS A DISGRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this place. They wash your hair thoroughly and really take the time to style your hair to your satisfaction. The only downside is that the wait at this salon can be hit or miss. Sometimes I come there and I'm able to get my hair washed and other times I have waited for 30 minutes before being seen.

Beware!!!!!!!!! Beware!!!!!!!!!! Beware!!!!!!!!!! I have been getting my hair done by Dominicans for over 20 years. I know ever owner of the local salons personally and love them all. I went to VIP only about 3 time but every time I went I was giving a different price for a simple wash and set. She Is WAY over priced compared to the surrounding Dominican salon in the area that offers the same service. True its never a wait but that is most likely due to her inflamed cost. I asked for a wash/set/temp color/blow. Normal i would pay 35-40$. When the owner quoted me a price of 82$ I wanted to vomit........I felt like a fool! 82$ WHO THE HECK pays that for what I got? I felt like she was trying to make a profit for 3 heads off of my one visit. JUST GREEDY!!! I had to ask her again " How much did you charge me for the color/wash&set. I was almost sick when she said to me " It's 30$ per color and I mixed two colors together and wash/set 35$." So I said " Let me get this straight. You charged me 50$ for two colors from the same company which by the way is a semi permanent WHICH means I will need to get it done again in a few weeks. SMH". Then on top of that you charged me 35$ more for you to wash it out and put rollers in"???. Shoot for that priced I should have at lease got a trim or a hair style done. BUT nope NOTHING MORE THEN JUST THAT. Now doing the math what she said she charged me for is not even the price she asked me to pay (simple math...50+35=85$) WHATEVER! So I wanted to see how much the product she used on me would cost HER. So after my research and asking my other dom. salon owners. The WHOLE bottle of color runs about 25-30$ per bottle. SOOOOOO that means she really charged me the cost of her whole product x2 which am sure she will use over 20-25 more times. SMH! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SALON TO MY DOG. GO TO ANNE ON JERUSALEM AVE, DANIELLE ON UNIONDALE AVE, CARMENS ON FRONT STREET. Any of these salon that does a great job as well. Oh if you are asking why I went there to begin with, simply cause my normal salon was closed on Tuesday and it was the next close one. But trust me that will be the very last time for me.
