V Hair Braiding in Bowie, MD

I was fooled by the ease of online scheduling and the fact that a deposit had to be made to confirm your appointment. I spoke with her on the phone, and we talked about what I wanted to be done: invisible/no knot crochet braids. She I showed up about 10mins before my scheduled time, 10 am, and the braider said she wanted to have breakfast. Not a problem. Then she said she had someone else waiting, and that person only wanted six braids, and she is "quick." An hour later, I asked how much longer the wait would be, and she said: oh, I'm sorry, but I'm almost done, and she then pointed to another braider and said whoever finished first would start on my hair. 90mins later, yes, 90mins, she's like, I'm just wrapping up. I should have left then. They did NOT know how to do No knot crochet. They asked me if I could send them a video? I just told them to take it all out. It looked like a 6yr-old was practicing. Absolutely awful and a complete waste of my time.

I've been here a few times and even had five other family members use them. I have not been pleased twice and my family stop going as well. The first time the lady attitude was rude because I told her she cut my braids to short and they wasn't the same size. She said that's why I didn't want to take you because you asked for Vera and anything I did you wouldn't like. That's not correct. I would have loved my hair if she didn't start cutting my hair instead of making sure they were all uniform. I was headed out of town and no I couldn't come back the next day. I decided to try them again and again requested Vera and was not givin that option but the new braider was fine. This time around my hair looked nothing like the picture and I sent three messages and no reply. I tried to give them a chance to respond but I've had enough.

I showed up, but she did not. I spoke with Vera and asked if she would be doing my hair and she said yes. I paid my deposit, and another braider showed up claiming she could not do what I asked for. Understood and I am thankful for her honesty. Now it's crickets on the deposit. DONT DO IT...Find someone else...

Website says spring twists cost $160+. I got shoulder length spring twists which is the shortest length offered and when I got to the shop she charged me $220. She was also quite unpleasant with very poor customer service. She did a decent job on the hair but not worth being overcharged.

I agree with other reviews that this place is UNPROFESSIONAL. You pay a lot of money to be treated badly in a subpar location. The salon is in a townhouse garage with hair filled floors and cold temperature. They make fun of you in French and laugh at you if you have 4c natural hair. The owner told me to park my car  and that it wouldn't get towed but of course it was towed. She reimbursed me for the tow but I had to take an expensive Uber to pick up my car from a far location. I foolishly went back to support black owned business but NEVER AGAIN at this place !!!   Save your money and time!! We need to do better and only support those businesses that value customers.
