Post-pandemic I was in need of some TLC, and all my usual service people were booked. Due to the current political pressures being put on our outside-the-norm alphabet citizens (I can never remember the letters or their order!) I randomly chose this salon simply to show support, and from the description, it sounded like a fun and interesting atmosphere. I wasn't disappointed! The owner was my beautician, and he was such a lovely soul that worked with me to bring a fresh style and sass to my 65 year-old hairstyle! I enjoyed the retro atmosphere and all the other hairdressers comments and suggestions. I was left with mobility problems due to the Camp Fire taking so much of my lungs. They bent over backwards to make sure I was comfortable at all times, from setting up an extra fan to starting my car to be sure it was cool when I got into it. This won't be a salon you'd enjoy if you want a sterile atmosphere and mean-girl gossiping. It's more like the hole-in-the-wall salons you'd find in SF, full of personality and uniqueness while offering a great cut and color at a reasonable cost. I'll be back!
They squeezed me in 30 min after I called! Whole staff is super friendly and they have niche products you dont see at your avg salon!

I love this salon with my whole heart. They take care of my kids and my husband, 3 very different people all looking fabulous. Can't rave enough about the skill level, heart and compassion that resides in this salon. It's an absolute Chico jewel
Deryl is the absolute best hair stylist/barber I've ever had! In 2013, I received an incredibly awful haircut from a different shop near campus. It was so bad my wife could not look at me without laughing lol! Considering the severity of the situation, Deryl opened his shop last minute on New Years Eve to fix my hair. From that day until I graduated from Chico State, Deryl was my barber. Aside from the hair cuts- Deryl often provided me with life advice that I literally still refer back to today! Now I live in the Bay Area and I still haven't found a barber that cuts hair as well as Deryl. I have seriously considered driving 3 hours back to Chico once a month to get my hair cut. Do yourself a favor and get your hair cut here.
