Twist Salon in McMinnville, OR

Noel was awesome!!!  I scheduled a consult 1st, among 4 others.  I have difficult hair, curly, wavy & tons of frizz.  I've followed only a handful of stylists over 40 years cuz I'm really nervous about anyone with scissors getting close to my head.  I moved from Gresham to Mac 5 yrs ago & had been going back there for my hair needs.  I decided it just wasn't feasible anymore so began my search closer to home.  After our 1st meeting I booked an appt.  She cut my hair dry to make sure the layers were good cuz when it's cut wet it's a lot more difficult to see how it's going to turn out.  She also did highlights that turned out very well.  She is a "specialist @ curly hair.  Am very happy to have a new stylist!!

As I write this review I'm sitting here in the salon... this is after trying to get ahold of them through both calling and texting one of the stylists( my friend ACTUALLY referred me to someone who intentionally read my text and never responded and called back) . Not too busy when I got in. No one acknowledged me or helped me set up an appointment. I've been here now for almost 35 minutes. The people here are no great shakes. I'd have better luck going to another salon-which I'm going to do! You lost my business and anyone else who asks me where they should go.

I have never gone on yelp to give a negative review however I was really bummed that such a nice and classy appearing place allows for someone to leave completely unsatisfied without an offer to correct or money back.
First they made an appointment for me on a day the stylist was not working which I was okay with since things happen.  Rescheduled !
Second I showed 3 pictures including one of myself that shows the weave and level of blonde I like. My stylist was a talker but not so much a listener. She interrupted me multiple times while I explained what I like since I was new to her and talked over me as well.When I asked when I could get more highlight to get closer to what I had originally asked for I was told it would cost another $135.00. I paid $165.00 and plus tip for the 1st appointment.  Really bummed at my experience there. Proceed with caution.

I have had several stylists at Twist. The first stylist (who I think is no longer there) burned my hair off by leaving the color on too long! It literally took me over a year to out grow most of the damage done by this color job! I called the next day to say that my hair was damaged. Left a message, no call back. I called the next day, left a message and agin, no call back! I spoke to someone else the next day and after that finally received a call from the stylist. She gave me some repair shampoo and conditioner but the damage was already done! I finally went back after a year and also because I found out she had moved! This stylist was mediocre. She never did the cuts I asked and the color was never quite right. Too $$ and too much risk to ever go back! I have since found another salon in MAC that charges less and gives me a fantastic cut!

The lady was nice and the cut was cute but the hair color wasnt even close to what i wanted. I wanted a pastel pink and they made it a very dark red pink. The moment i put my hair under cold water (without any shampoo or anything) it washed out almost completely, leaving me with a very faded light orangish pink. I have NEVER had a dye come out that quickly and easily. Even with box dyes. I used pastel pi k overtone dye after it washed out and got my hair way closer to the actual color i wanted. Unfortunately there wmis still an orange ubdertone because of the color she chose to out in my hair. But i spent over $260 with tip when i could have dyed it at home. Yes, I still would have needed them to bleach it and cut it, but the dye itself would have come out wayy better if I had used overtone to begin with. Very didappointes. Will not be returning.
