Topics Salon in Erie, PA

I've been to quite a few salons in the Erie area, but Topics is by far the best! I'll never go anywhere else! Victoria is a magician when it comes to hair. She does great work, is reasonably priced and just the sweetest person ever! It's impossible to leave Topics in a bad mood when she is there. She will seriously having you smiling and laughing at the end of every appointment.

The salon is nice and well kept. The ladies who work there are decent. Victoria who was my stylist charged me $183 for my hair to get a small touch up on my brown roots and she put toner in the bottom where it is blonde since I have a "balayage" and she said it was blonde enough. She has done my hair in the past where she turned it into a balayage for $183 and at the time I was fine with that amount. But this time just getting it BARELY touched up and she charged me the same amount? Crazy! Victoria took me as an appointment at last minute when I called in and asked for a touch up and to cut half an inch off of my hair. She was more than willing which I thought was great and accommodating. She said she has a cancellation last minute. Turns out she canceled the appointment herself all because she didn't feel like doing this woman's hair anymore. She claims the woman was late but the woman came in and showed her appointment card that was the time she said and Victoria still wouldn't take her. Another two people came in for their appointments stating they were at 1:30 and she said very rudely that the appointments were at 2:30 and the customers had their texts showing their appointment reminders for 1:30 but they were sweet and said they would come back at 2:30 but Victoria practically wouldn't let them even talk and kept saying "you guys just sit down and I'll take you right now I just need a few minutes to finish her (me) up". So as she did the two clients hair I'm sitting there for almost an hour and a half. Mind you I didn't even have anything to have sit in that long so it was pretty ridiculous. When I was finished she told me the amount it cost and I told her I wasn't paying that much for a little brown hair dye and for her to tone my blonde hair. She didn't bleach it. It was already blonde. And my roots were already brown. I paid her 160 and left. Her boss threatened to call the police on me if I didn't pay the 23 dollars. So I came in paid the rest but I'll never go back to that salon again. Absolutely ridiculous and expensive for no reason!

If I could rate 0 I would. I do not recommend coming to this salon, I have a lot of hair and the stylist was just being lazy so she didn't dry my hair completely. I had pieces of my hair that still felt wet and she insisted it was the oil she put in beforehand. Also I asked for beach waves and They're more like Annie curls than beach waves lol never coming back! I attached an extra photo of what beach waves are supposed to look like lol

This salon is absolutely AMAZING! Topics Salon kindly accommodated with my very last minute appointment request on Friday afternoon. I went in not exactly knowing what hairstyle I wanted, but my stylist Victoria had so many useful&accurate advices on my haircut/styling my hair despite a number of concerns I threw at her. She was very easy to talk to, and I loved how the salon felt at-home! I ended up making a big decision by getting a short hair from a long hair, and I LOVE how it looks. I would definitely go back to Topics Salon again!

Topics Salon and it brand new ownership and location brings a top tier Salon back to the Erie area. My wife has been a client of the prior location for many years and now so am I. Vickey is the best and treats us like family while we're there. This new location is perfect with lots of space and smiling faces to take care of any hair scenario...
