The Village Salon in Pennington, NJ

I have been seeing Katie for about 4 years and every time I have a great experience. She gives me a Devacut and is just all around joy and light. Happy to drive out of my way to go see her.

I've never had a better cut! For years, I've been looking for a home salon that I could go to and be sure I would feel good coming out. I feel confident that I have found that place. Karen did a wonderful job, and explained everything to me as she was doing it. I came in for a deva cut for my weird, kind of wavy kind of straight hair. Instead of charging me for the more expensive cut, she talked to me about doing a normal cut instead for now, and told me about how to actually take care of my waves so that if I wanted a deva cut next time, I would be ready for it. She easily could have made herself an extra $40, and she went out of her way to put that back in my pocket. She explained to me the ingredients to look for in shampoos and conditioners, never pushing salon products. I forget the name of it, but she discussed my hairs health and highly recommended an in-salon treatment to help with my hairs dryness, I went for it and will NEVER look back! Since moving to a home with very hard water, my hair has been so dry. I cannot believe that treatment was all it took for my hair to be healthy and again, it has an actual SHINE to it! And it's still going weeks later, not the sort of thing where 4 days later the treatment effects are gone and it was all a smoke show. My hair is truly just healthier now. I will definitely be getting that treatment again when the hard water wrecks my hair with more time. None of that even touches on the cut itself, which is wonderful. She let me talk about what I was thinking, show photos, and confirmed what I said afterwards so I wasn't worried she missed anything. She checked in with me on length and style as she was cutting layers. In this process she even, once again, continued to mention things that were for my benefit and not her own. For example, we discussed bangs/going short, as I was thinking about it but not sure (i have long hair), and she mentioned that I seemed like the kind of person that gets a cut every year or so (accurate, lol) and that I should think about how if I get bangs &/or go short, I would likely be in need of much more frequent cuts, especially with bangs, and to add the cost of those visits or the effort of learning how to trim bangs myself into my styler consideration. She easily could have hyped me up for bangs, given me what I'm sure would have been an excellent cut, and been excited with her new every 3 month client instead of an annual one. She seems like the type of person who is very passionate about her work and just can't help but do a great job and really lay out all your options for you. An excellent communicator. I would highly recommend Karen and the village salon.

I've been here twice now and both times seen Jackie. She's great! I'm very picky about my hair and like to get a dimensional dirty blonde look and most hairdressers have difficulty with it, especially because my natural color is very dark brown and doesn't lift well, but Jackie took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and it's the best highlight I've ever had!

I went there for the first time . There was no one at the front desk . When someone finally arrived, they were very rude and not welcoming at all. I will Never step in this place again.

Before coming to Village Salon, I had a terrible experience that left me in tears & I avoided a haircut for 2 whole years. When I finally called to make an appointment & told the front desk about my anxieties, they recommended Melissa. I have been going to her (almost) religiously for 5 years now, though I have been to Lauren as well. I have never been disappointed by this salon. Actually, I always leave with a smile on my face & a great new do. When I told Melissa about my trichotillomania (hair-pulling) that left me with an embarrassing cowlick, she was very kind & helped me to tamp it down. This actually helped me to kick the compulsion & I now only very rarely pull my hair. So long as I'm in the tri-state area, I will be coming back to Village Salon.
