Young Nails in Pennington, NJ

I just got an acrylic fill here and am giving 3 stars because the manicurist was nice & did a good job actually painting the nails, but the shaping was horrible. I left with super short acrylic nails that are actually the same length as my regular nail because she kept taking more and more off of each nail to try to make them all the same shape... which they still are not. I personally won't be coming back, at least not for a mani!

Just had a mani/pedi and am very satisfied with the services provided. The girl that did the pedicure was very nice and accommodating, and the EXTRAS (scrub, massage, hot stones) that are included in the regular manicure are wonderful! The manicure was nice too but the pedicure is what I'll be coming back for. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of little details. They should have liners in the foot tubs, have one time use files and brushes, and the stainless steel tools should be in sterilization bags and opened in front of the client. Don't get me wrong, the place is very clean, and I saw the other girl cleaning the tools and tub, but it's much more sanitary and professional to have those little details in my opinion.

Young Nails III.. I was cut and bled not once, not twice.. THREE times. Once during my pedicure she sliced the top of my toe with the nail file, and twice during my manicure she drew blood with the cuticle trimmer. Pedicure and manicure nail filing was painful as they went way too low and into the sensitive skin below the nail. When pushing back cuticles they were heavy handed and painful. Leg scrub hurt as she was SO strong handed and vigorous I thought my skin was going to be scrubbed off, no joke. Also, I'm all about thorough but my god, the amount of times the manicurist kept going back to cut at my cuticles felt OCD-ish. Positives: leg massage with oil was nice, hot stones were nice, hot towel neck massage was decent-ish, nails were painted pretty well. Honestly couldn't relax from all the pain/bleeding and now I'm afraid of contracting an infection.

Let me start off by saying that the "extras" they provide for normal mani / pedi prices are unsurpassed. They massage your legs with scrubs, lotions, hot stones, and a hot towel after your pedicure! Then once you're under the nail dryer they come and massage your neck, back and shoulders with a hot towel! Wow! The actual nail work - clipping, trimming, cleaning out, polishing - is average. We found 1-2 of the staff members to be pleasant but the rest were not. And while they didn't struggle when it came to swiping my debit card, it was very evident that they struggled with dealing with non-Caucasian clientele. So in spite of the great extras, my daughter and I won't be back.

I am sad to change my 5 star to a one star review. I was literally 5 min late to my appointment for a mani/pedi/eyebrow/lip wax and they told me I could no longer get my pedi (after they let me take the time to pick out my colors - nothing was said when I first arrived)! It was the first time I went out post partum without my kid. What was supposed to be a relaxing day turned into a terrible day. I have been a long standing customer there and they know I am usually never late. I had extenuating circumstances that made me late. Also last time I was there they cut my finger when they did my cuticle - they did the same to a friend I had brought there earlier in May as well. I previously brought friends there, came monthly. The owner and staff know me well. To treat a regular customer like this because of literally being 5 min late once is just inexcusable. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I recommend you do too.
