I've been going to Randy, one of the owners of Hair Company, for some time, but no more! When I went in recently I was "reprimanded" in a condescending way for not getting in to see him sooner or often enough. I was shocked, because I have been a good client -- never missed an appointment, always on time, tipped although he is the owner, and referred clients to him. The way he spoke to me was haughty, condescending, and unprofessional. I walked out and won't be going back. There are lots of good stylists in Spokane, and I quickly made an appointment elsewhere.
There is a hair dresser at the Hair Company named Paula Sabins from whom I received a very inferior color treatment recently. Stating that I wanted the tips of my hair slightly darker near my face, she made large sections around my face much too dark and entirely inappropriate for my skin coloring. Throughout the rest of my hair there was little or no contrast in the highlighting as there should have been. It really was a very, very bad color job. A few days later I was able to have the damage rectified at another shop where I was appropriately charged $120 for repairing her bad work. The next day I stopped in the salon to show Paula the improvement and tell her what it had cost me. I did not ask for a refund, but was favorably impressed that she wrote me a check for $110 as a refund for her faulty work, and I accepted it. I cashed the check the next day only to find out a day or two later that she had stopped payment on it almost immediately. My bank then reversed the charge, and I was forced to make up the $110 plus a small fee. Not only was Paula Sabin's work unprofessional, her manor of handling the situation was deplorable. I will never recommend her to anyone, and I think this experience reflects very poorly on The Hair Company.
