The Avenue Hair Studio & Spa in Saginaw, MI

One star because something has to go in there for me to drop the review. I'm not writing this after one bad experience it's after multiple terrible experiences. However the last one was unforgivable. I was given a massage appointment for 8 o'clock. I showed up at 7:57, was checked in and sent to the waiting room. No one came to get me until 820 and that's when I went to the front desk and ask them nobody knew where the massage therapist was. Ultimately they got a hold of him but it would not be able to make it on time and had further appointments, and could not squeeze me in any time during the day . I left Avenue at 8:40 without a massage and without any compensation for my time. I do not think it's a good idea to come here because I value my time, even if they don't

Overall this place was just okay to me. I went on a Saturday and it was very busy. The music was loud and a few stylists were pretty loud too. Not exactly what I was hoping for in a "day spa" vibe. My stylist was Chelsea. She was pleasant and didn't talk too much, which I appreciated since I told her I was looking for some downtime. I'm happy overall with my cut, but sort of felt rushed by her. I've noticed several split ends since too, which is disappointing since I told her I wanted the ends cleaned up and healthy. She did a very nice scalp massage during the shampoo though and did a nice job targeting products that I might like.

this used to be a good salon before sarah took over management, now it's just a little salon in shields that hires inexperienced girls and only specializes in hair extensions (per katy at the front desk). i was a client of sarah's for over 7 years and i used to have her color my long hair. i called 3 times within a four month span to make an appointment with sarah for color. i spoke with katy at the reception desk each time but she didn't have the professionalism or common sense to ask if i was an existing client or ask my name.. so i was turned away once for a trim. no problem, i went to shapers and they did a wonderful job. i called a second time to ask if the receptionist could tell me if they carried wella color line. once again, katy was clueless and put me on hold. i just gave up on that phone call. i called a third time and finally, katy asked if i had every seen sarah before (i had to explain to the poor thing that i had been going to that salon waaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy before sarah managed it and had sarah color my hair). amazingly, katy was able to book me an appointment with sarah the very next day @ 12:45 that she booked me!!!! hilarious!!!! she was sooo snotty and my treatment at that salon was so horrible each of the 3 times i spoke to katy at the reception area that i didn't even bother to go to my color consultation.... disgusting treatment of clients for a salon that would like to keep them. no problem, i'll go spend $300.00 at a truly professional salon for base color and multiple blonde blayage highlights!!! shapers salon & spa at 685 n center rd, saginaw, mi 4863 blows this place out of the water!! they know how to keep clients and treat them right!~~

I just had a mani/pedi done there on Wednesday and it looked very nice. Well, here it is Saturday and the polish on my nails has all pealed off. What is more upsetting is that I have been on a long weekend vacation and it is my left had that is the worst. Plus I have not been doing any work. Also, my toes have lint stuck to them from the gauze they use between toes. I am disappointed after spending all that money. I probably could have gone to a cheaper place and it would still be ok.

I went a couple of times over the past 10 years . They hire very inexperienced girls and charge very high rates for mediocre service. Then they try and up sell on everything. Personally I would steer clear of The Avenue. I ended up at Shapers because they are much more skilled and better prices.
