Sugar Nail and Hair in Venice, CA

Absolutely loved my experience at Sugar Nail & Hair! My friend and I got gel manicures and pedicures, my manicure being a gel extension. The technicians were efficient, careful, and super sweet. I gave my manicure technician a reference picture and she gave me exactly what I wanted (maybe even improved it to be honest). Couldn't have had a better experience. I highly recommend this cute and groovy salon!

AWFUL!!! You can make appointments but what's the point?! This place doesn't honour appointments at all. It's like they write things down, toss them in the trash and take walk in's. I drove here from across town, confirmed my appointment twice and showed up to them having no one available to see me since they had too many walk in's. The people at the front desk need to be fired.

I NEVER leave a bad review, but this pisses me off. I had Gel-X done here on NOV 18, for the week of Thanksgiving holiday travels. The nails started to come off on DAY 3, as I was out of town, I didn't know what to do to fix it so I called them. (No one answered the phone) by DAY 5, 7 of them came off. By the time I returned to town, which was a week later, I immediately went back here & asked to take the remaining 3 nails off and just have a regular mani instead. bc it looked so bad with three gel-x nails and the rest of my fingers bare. While working on my nails , The tech took pics and sent to the owner and then informed me that they only have an one week policy (I came back here more than one week later bc I was traveling out of town ) Then I showed the pictures that were taken on day 3, thankfully the phone Keeps a date when you take a pic. & I had a pic on the day my nails were done (NOV 18) and the day it started to come off (NOV 22) which is clear evidence. The owner showed up by the time the mani was done, I was sure it would be complementary repair because it happened on DAY 3 and MAN, the inconvenience this caused me. Took two hours to do it and another hour to fix it with a regular mani , forget about the traffic of getting there etc,. It is a lot of TIME. On top of that I didn't have good nails for thanksgiving. Considering I paid $138 originally for something lasting 3 days, any owner with class and decency would have covered this cost. BUT no, the owner first asked for $45 and I was surprised and mentioned it happened on DAY 3, then she said ok, free of charge for removal (on that three nails left!?), lol $25 total. She then said it is because I did not inform them when it happened. Luckily I had all the phone calls history still in my phone and showed her that I called twice when the nail came off on DAY3, while I was out of town. With all evidence in hand, she still would not honor the service. $25 is not much of money, but the lack of decency and lack of class as a business owner is truly disappointing. Be aware if you are going there for Gel-X. P.S the girls who work there are very nice, they deserve a better employer.

By far the shortest post-manicure massage that I've had (one motion, 5 seconds tops each hand). I can forgive someone who is new being hesitant and making mistakes, nicking me, wanting to wear gloves and a mask. I'd gladly pay $25 for the closest salon to be to offer good service. But, this wasn't a good value or result.

Nice people here. The woman who did my pedi was very sweet and she seemed inexperienced - it was kind of sad. She was very insecure and tentative and very nice. The thing was that the salon itself was dirty. There were toe nails on the floor when we arrived - big ones and small ones - and the floor was just generally dirty - big spots of dirt. There were a good amount of people working filling towels etc so personnel didn't seem to be the issue. Also the price stated on the list that they gave me said $25 which included polish. I did not get any polish on my toes and yet she charged me $30 - more than the stated or I e (plus tip of course). Of the three problems- the face that the place was dirty bothered me the most. Won't go back.
