Studio M Salon in Tucson, AZ

Love my new highlights by Laura. First time here and they fit me in, I am visiting Tucson on business and decided I wanted to get highlights and I am very happy with the results. She took her time and should me what would work.

Monica was recommended to me by a trusted friend. I called and made a weekend appointment 1 week out. I told her on the phone I wanted a hair cut and a color consult. I spent the next week gathering pictures of what I wanted. I went to my appointment and showed her 3 different photos. 2 of the color I wanted to achieve eventually and 1 of the cut. I have dyed dark blonde/light mahogany blond hair and understand that lightening it will take a few appointments. I even told her I didn't expect to be blonde over night and I asked her if she felt comfortable enough to do this. She said yes and we went on with the cut. The cut was not what the picture depicted in the cut photo but more of a mixture of the two color photos I showed her. Okay, no biggie. I liked it so I didn't stress over it not being like the cut photo. We finish and go to make the color appointment. She says "the longer you wait the better" because I have dye in my hair and it needs to fade before lightening it. Considering it had already been 8 weeks since my last color, my roots are 1.5 inches long, and I can help the color breakdown process by using cheap shampoo.... I ask "is two weeks okay?" She agreed and we schedule an appointment for two weeks later at 1 in the afternoon. She told me to wash my hair everyday with cheap shampoo but condition well. So that's what I did. Two weeks pass and I go into the salon for my much needed appointment. Walking in, I notice a cart with a used color bowl and brush next to Monica's station, but no client and no Monica. I figure she's running a tad behind so I go to sit when another stylist asks if I have an appointment. I said "yes, with Monica." To which she looked away and said "Monica's not working today. Did she call you?" I said no and she "oh are you Sandra?" Again, I said no. We went to look at the schedule and she quickly flipped past the appointment day to another day and said "I don't see you." Then she said to a coworker "esta es la chica" which translates to "this is the girl" guess she didn't realize yo hablo Español. She asked me what I was supposed to have done and she tried to reschedule me for another day, ironically enough on the same day she was looking at when she said "I don't see you" I told her that I would just go somewhere else because that was seriously unprofessional. I don't know if this is standard practice for this place but it makes me terribly sad that it happened. I was really looking forward to finding a salon I could become long term clientele with.

In town for a mth and needed a trim. Looked this place up on Yelp, it had really good reviews. Ended up added some purple in too. :) Laura did a great job. I'd definitely look her up the next time I'm in town.

Got a pretty drastic haircut at a different salon in a different state and wasn't totally happy with it. Went to see Monica and she fixed it perfectly! She made sense of my terrible description of what I thought I wanted! Thank you very much! I'll definitely go back. She was super nice, too! I never write reviews, but just had to this time.

I went to Salon M because of their good yelp reviews. I had my hair cut by Becky and she did a really nice job. I cut 13 inches off to donate and went really short compared to how I had it. It looks good and I'm happy with it. I'll go back to them for sure. Their hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 9-5. I couldn't find their hours anywhere!
