Studio 47 in Bethesda, MD

I was in town for the wedding. Booked a blowout through scheduling system with another salon. When I got there,the place looked closed,there was an actual notice of eviction on the door! Having only 2 hours until the event,I thought I 'd have a heart attack. I stopped a woman on the street looking for other options,she recommended Studio 47 . So I went up there without giving it a 2d thought. Faik (the owner) took me in as a walk-in. Although he was already working with another client,he multitasked and did my hair at the same time. My impression-High level of professionalism . Five stars all the way! When I come back to Bethesda, he will be the stylist I am going back to!

Great salon! I use Gregory who I have gone to for years and he is great with both cut and color. But everyone leaves there looking great! There is a real family feeling there and I always look forward to my appointments. I have gone to much more expensive hairdressers but have never been treated so well and left feeling so wonderful! Great place! Treat yourself and try it.

Faik are doing excellent and knowledge guy. I went there yesterday and my new style speechless! Price are really reasonable and stuff's are great and helpful. I'm highly recommended to who need new look...

I finally found George Bacchus formerly of the George Bacchus Salon in Potomac!! On tueday and Wednesday you can find him at Studio 47. He is still the master with hair. I have never had a haircut that can compare to the miracle that he performs. Came back this week for highlights. I can finally retire the messy bun thanks to George! He also works at MGM if that location is more convenient. He was recognized as best hair stylist by Bethesda Magazine and I have the tresses to prove it.

Pros: Faik did an excellent job on my haircut. He was quick, professional, and very thorough. He even gave me tips on maintenance and styling after finishing. The other staff I met -- from the front desk attendant to the shampoo assistant -- were also very friendly and helpful. The salon was clean and easy to find, conveniently located in walking distance from the Bethesda metro. Cons: The haircut was definitely on the expensive side ($80). The website says that basic haircuts (including wash and blow dry) start at $65. I'm used to salons charging more if you have longer or thicker hair, but my hair was already just above shoulder-length and I only got 2 inches cut off. Since it wasn't a complicated cut, I was expecting to pay closer to the base range. It also doesn't look like they're still offering promotions for new customers (this was my first time there). Overall: I've gotten similar haircuts at Bang Salon and Aveda for significantly less cost, but I have to say that the styling at Studio 47 was top-notch. I've been able to replicate it without much effort, and for a lazy/low-maintenance girl that's a big plus. I'd probably go back -- the staff really is wonderful. Just maybe once a quarter to keep my budget in check!
