Star Nails in Mt Pleasant, SC

Not friendly and didn't do a good job on my nails, sadly. 4 days out and my nails are cracking and chipping. I like to wait a couple of weeks between visits but after only a week, my nails don't look good at all. The man who did my nails wasn't very nice. No music. No TV. Dirty atmosphere. Overall not what I would expect. I wish them well but I won't be back.

disgusting! turned me away twice because I came in with my toddlers, who mind you were sitting like angels! The woman told me I need to come back when I have a babysitter. disgusting that you turn away a paying customer because she came in with her kids! you should be ashamed.

I've been to Star Nails 3 times now. The first time the pedicure was awesome and manicure (dipped) was pretty good. Cuticles cut and bleeding, but everything else good. The 2nd time the pedicure wasn't very good (feet rough after pedicure and cuticles cut up) and the manicure was ok. Their amazing selection of colors prompted me to go back for a 3rd time because I wanted neon colors for my trip to the Caribbean.

Their hours begin at 9:30 a.m. I was early so I sat outside and waited. At 9:32 a.m. I called them and the lady said they were stuck on 'the big bridge in traffic and it would be about 15 minutes.' It was Saturday morning and there was no traffic as I just came the same way. About 9:45 a pregnant lady and little boy showed up to open the shop.

I wanted neon yellow, neon pink and silver glitter dipped nails. On their site dipped nails are $50. I was told each additional color would be $5 so my nails were $65 because she charged me $55 + 2 colors. My cuticles are mutilated and she was VERY unfriendly even though I tried multiple times to start a conversation. She left paint on my fingers. Also, a rash started on my wrist and hand while I was still there getting my pedicure. Idk?

Also, day 3 my nails have already chipped and I've been sick with a migraine for 2 days so I have not even used my hands. Ugh.

I was then passed onto another lady for my pedicure and again charged $5 extra for additional colors. This lady was friendly and did a good job. She did cut my toes, but overall she did a decent job. I got the callus remover and my feet are somewhat smoother, but still rough.

For dipped nails and callus treatment pedicure it was $118 + 20% tip.

I always give local businesses 2x, but 3 strikes is too much. I am so disappointed.

I have finally found my nail salon. They are so talented and caring. Truly the best. I have tried almost every nail salon in Mount P and downtown Chs and this is the place.

My coworkers and I searched for a nail salon that could accommodate all three of us at one time. Normally, when we go together, they start one of us sooner than the other and it's always a fiasco. Thankfully at Star Nails, they paced us so that we could all be together getting our pedicure, even though some of us started quicker than others.

My one coworker had a very long, luxurious deluxe pedicure with lots of massages, and he did an excellent job. My other coworker had a regular paced pedicure with a decent massage for the deluxe pedicure. I was the last to get started as I had my eyebrows done before hand And was the first to be finished. Definitely no extra massaging or anything like that. Vivian did an excellent job on my feet though.

Our manicures we're all done at the same time however, mom was done very quickly. I had the absolute best conversations with Vivian, and really enjoyed talking with her. Unfortunately, my cuticles were torn up by her drill and she cut several of my fingers from the nail file. Two of my fingers in particular are hurting today, the day after. In spite of that, she did an excellent job, painting the nails, and making sure everything was the same length, but was a little too haphazard with the cuticles and filing. Also many of my fingers were stained from the dip, which took many scrubbing's.

My coworkers nails looked beautiful and honestly we would go back and probably will. I think they did an excellent job overall.
