My mom and I have been going here consistently for about 8 years now. I have tried just about every nail salon in town and swear by Star Nails. They have the BEST prices for quality of service. The $25 standard pedicure is better and longer lasting than any other pedicure in town, and the $40 deluxe is an hour long treat. The salon is not showy or frilly, but consistently does a great job. I have now referred all my friends from downtown and they all are sold and drive to Irmo for this salon.
Keep in mind they have consistent appointments with their regulars so I would only recommend making an appointment to visit, not walking in. I usually book a day in advance or the morning of for an afternoon appointment.
I use to live in Columbia and frequented this nail salon every 2 weeks for 10 years. I have never gotten good vibes from the woman owner. Her husband is very nice and Don and Kim are really nice. The woman owner never smiles and is rude to customers. You would think that customers she sees twice monthly for 10 years she would appreciate and get to know. I moved to Charlotte and visit Columbia on occasion. I have walked in twice over the past year while I was visiting to see if I could get my nails done. Both times the woman owner greeted me and said nobody could do my nails. The first time I went in , I though maybe I just hit at a bad time, but just last week I walked in on a Thursday and was told the same thing. I know this lady remembered me from prior visits, but she didn't even bother to offer me an appointment for later in the day or anything. I walked out and went straight to my car and called the salon and asked for an appoinment in 30 minutes. Her reply was , " sure...what do you need done?" Obviously I was furious and blasted her on the phone as to why she didn't offer me an appointment in 30 min instead of just telling me she couldn't do my nails? She started yelling something back and I just hung up.
I'm thinking now that she has intentionally turned me away because i am not a frequent customer anymore. Hmmmmmmm...... Little does she know that I have moved 2 hours away from Columbia...
I have NEVER been turned away from a nail salon like I have this one. But...thats ok...I just went a mile down the road to Nail Spa on Lake Murray Blvd walked in and was greeted with a smile and they were HAPPY to do my nails. I will NEVER patronize Star Nails EVER again. This woman owner needs to learn to smile and appreciate her customers more. PLEASE....act like you know the customers that have helped you stay in business ALL these years....
Horrible service. Walked in and they said they would do my friends full set but they wouldn't give me a polish change so we left because on a date to the nail salon why would we both not want or nails done. They were very rude and we left.
This place was wonderful. Took my 5 yr old for a manicure & pedicure and they were so accommodating and treated her like a little princess. I highly recommend this place.
I like the guys and the other lady that are workers in this salon. The owner who sits at the front is so rude, and almost looks like you are doing her a favor to give her business. The bathrooms are also very dirty! I will not be back!!! I am so glad Aiza is now offering nail services!!!
