Sophie Nails in Shelby, NC

The older woman Leah, who is the owner is very rude and she is rough. They are not very friendly to new customers just to their usual customers. They speak over you and to each other. There is one nail technician in there she has the nastiest attitude. It's not a friendly environment. Me and my daughter went so I could get a manicure along with my toes painted and I used regular polish. She got gel polish, they over charged. We paid 70.00 for one gel manicure, regular manicure, and my toes painted. I let my daughter Pay while my nails dried. I was like 70.00 later when I realized it. No one got acrylics. She said Sophie was nice, Micheal is nice. Leah has a nasty attitude.

I was recommended this place by my sister and went was disappointed, I showed a picture of what I would have liked to have them do and the nail tech replied "yes! I can do that" and then preceded to let a young girl do it, around 16-17. Having not seen the picture you would have thought that she did a good job but compared to the picture you would say that she did it with her eyes closed. The second time I went i got yellow gel nails and the nail tech was very nice and I loved the way they looked, but after a few days my polish started to chip. I don't think I wouldn't  recommend this place due to many problems I've faced when there.

A younger man did mine and he did okay he messed up a couple of things but it's okay. He did get aggravated bc I hadn't picked my color as fast as some people and made me sit down.

Awful, AWFUL experience! I wanted an American French (with gel polish) and it looked terrible--it was bumpy and uneven and very thick. I rarely complain if I don't love my polish choice at a nail place, so this was big for me! Another tech tried to fix it and basically they gave up and told me to just pick a different color! So not only did I not get what I wanted, but they didn't have very many natural shades of gel polish to choose from so I had to settle. I got my gel manicure 4 days ago and 2 of my nails have already chipped and the polish in every single one of my cuticles is thick, flowing onto my fingers,  and is now peeling away... on top of that, another tech was positively BERATING one of her clients to get a pedicure. The woman said no politely several times and the tech kept pushing and pushing until the girl had to embarrassingly say she couldn't afford it! Did the tech stop pushing and apologize? No. She continues to pressure her and said the person she came to the salon with could just lend her the money!! I was mortified and will NEVER go back.
