Sofy's Family Hair Salon in San Antonio, TX

I won't be going back. I called to see if they had an appointment available and was thrilled that they could see me the same day. I have very long hair. I wanted 2-3 inches cut off, layers and roots covered. She showed me how much she was going to cut off and asked if it was ok, and I said yes. It was about 3 inches. She had the chair facing away from the mirrors so you cannot see what is happening. She asked if I wanted my hair dried and I said yes which seem to irritate her. She had someone else waiting however I did have an appointment. By the time she was done, my hair went from being just at the bottom of my back to my shoulder blades. I was truly stunned. I didn't say anything. I knew I would start crying. The color did not cover my gray. She said it was stubborn and did offer to redo it at a later time- not while I was there. The highlight of my visit was Maria. She washed my hair and it was the best wash I've ever had. Very gentle and relaxing.

I went in looking for a Bob haircut. It would be long in the front and to shorter in the back. I even had pictures to go off of. My hair is naturally curly. Obviously they don't know what to do with naturally curly hair. My cut was the complete reverse. It's extremely short in the front to longer in the back. It's so embarrassing and I can't do anything with it. I'm looking at getting an extension halo to try and do something with my hair.

It seems that Sofy's is great at doing one off haircuts but it doesn't seem like they want to build a long term relationship with customers. Be very careful when getting much more than a haircut as they will not tell you about prices unless you very specifically ask. As is commented in a number of reviews you will be surprised when it comes time to pay. Ultimately you will be charged some random amount and it will be run up as a custom charge. In my wife's case, she was charged $275 for full highlights. That doesn't include tip or anything else that she had gotten done. Although my wife is happy with the finished product she is sick to her stomach about how much it cost. Needless to say, she won't be going back to Sofy's as she doesn't trust them to be honest.

The stylist got my daughter in right away and was so sweet and attentive. Prices were afforable but experience was really what made it great. Will definitely go back!

First time there and the experience was great! Sohpy is so kind and loved cutting my hair, will plan on going again!
