SmartStyle Hair Salon in Green Valley, AZ

The worst haircut I have ever gotten. She chopped my hair unevenly and the fade was so uneven and partially non-existent. I also asked for a beard trim, which was also uneven. I ended up shaving my face and will grow out a new beard. I will never go back to this place and will always tell people not to go here because it was so bad!!!

I love this salon! Hali and Stephanie are wonderful stylists and listen to what you want and know their stuff when it comes to color. Highly recommend this establishment.

I went to Smart Style Salon on Nogales Hwy in Green Valley, AZ inside Walmart on Monday June 11, 2018 and got a botched hair dying and butchered hair cut from Bee. I waited until today, June 13th because I wanted to make sure I talked to the manager, Hali, when I was told she'd be back, to be fair. Hindsight is 20/20 but that never helps a person to see the bad in others until it's too late. Looking back, things were strange from the beginning. I walked in and was seen as soon as Bee paused her broom to take several deep breaths under her labored breath. After being seated in her chair I was given a price twenty dollars above the price I was given when I, a few days previously, called the salon to inquire about the services and price for dye and a cut. Also, like I've never experienced before, I was presented with a waiver to sign without explanation or informed consent, in the event I was injured by the dye. Throughout the red flags and chaos that at the time I didn't know were red flags and chaos a little boy called to the humility and compassion in me. There was something about the little boy sitting in a deserted salon chair to my right, that I could see behind the suppressively anxious moving and morbidly obese Bee, that told me "Be patient, do your part and hers because she just doesn't know, and if you don't you'll be in trouble like me." This little boy, who I thought was four or five turned out to be seven according to Hali, the manager. He was, in fact and deed, well beyond his years, but now I know neither one of us could be safe in the presence or care of Bee. The hair dye started burning my eyes after thirty minutes. Up until that point me and the little boy had sat still in our confined chairs. Neither his toy or my magazines and dying cell phone could distract us from the abuse. At that point I asked Bee to do everything she was suppose to do about the irritation, and she agreed verbally but acted to withold the recommended conditioner. I found this out from her when I complained that my hair was hard. Instead of doing the right thing, Bee said it wouldn't help and it cost more. I had asked for a basic layer hair cut and was told the cut of the celebity Lisa Rena was a basic layer cut. Instead the only thing I got was a dire warning from the little boy who at this point had broken free from his confined chair and was all over the salon shop and at my chair repeatedly trying to get his mother's attention while she was cutting my hair. The more he was told to go sit down the more my hair was spitefully, hatefully, and raggedly ripped off my head. He could have drank chemical poison in the back or cut himself with the sharps and blades in the front of the shop but he wasn't going to get her attention and neither was I. Although Bee would never admit it in a thousand years, me and the little boy were both doomed through no fault of our own. I still had four of the six inches of hair I arrived with when Bee underhanded blamed me for everything, said maybe someone else can help you, and walked off. Stephanie, the only other stylist begrudgingly butchered two more inches of my hair before telling me it was a communication problem.

Everyone @ this salon was friendly, professional and helpful. I made an appointment with Shaun and I am very glad I did. I found a few pictures of the hair style that I wanted. Shaun took his time, patiently explaining that my hair could look the way I want it, but needed to grow out to achieve this style. He shaped my hair, evened out the last cut, so now my hair looks great. He didn't cut too much and I am confident that my hair will look good while I grow it out. Thank you, Shaun

I LOVE this salon! I have purchased product at this store for the last few years because they always have great sales on my brand but it was never convenient to get my haircut while I was there, shopping. Well, that changed today! SHAUN, my new best friend, gave me the BEST cut I've had since moving to AZ, eight years ago. He knew exactly how to cut my fine, naturally curly hair and then added some funky violet streaks to my mostly white hair. I absolutely love it! The prices are great, Shaun is the perfect blend of professional and friendly, I was only there for about an hour and a half, what else could you ask for?! I would recommend it to everyone.
