SmartStyle Hair Salon in Glendale, AZ

so back in like october, november i got a haircut at great clips and the lady that cut my hair did so badly and today I went to the salon and the girl that did my hair did an amazing job. I wasn't able to catch her name but she did an amazing job with my hair and she was so talkative and nice and showed me everything she was gonna do and was asking questions on if the length is okay etc. im so happy with the outcome and she took her time, didnt rush, and just completly made my hair look so good! and it was only $20 and we gave her a $5 tip! its the same price as great clips and they are amazing! definitely will be coming back!

The most beautiful salon I have ever seen. I accompained a friend who has been seeing Mary for a long time. They even had a masseuse on site.

Someone once told me "Customer Service is a thing of the past" I did not believe this until I went into SmartStyle. I called prior to doing a walk-in to see if they have availability, the stylist said yes they do take walk-ins and yes there is availability for a woman's cut. 10mins later I walked in, I was told there's a 15min wait and I was okay with that. The stylist name Sophia eventually took me. I was not picky, as my expectations were not high as soon as I realized the salon was in a Walmart. Sophia told me she was about to get off work; however, she felt bad for making me wait and she also felt bad for leaving her co-workers "hanging". I said "Are you sure? Because I do not mind waiting". She said, "Yup, I can take you" .... 20mins later, after my hair was trimmed and washed, Sophia said she had to go because her ride was here and asked if I could pay... SERIOUSLY!? I was generous enough to pay and even gave her a $5 tip for a $17 service, hoping she would at least BLOWDRY my hair before bouncing out the door! (Mind you, that was at 6 pm and the salon closes at 8 pm!) It's not like I was asking for it to get styled!... Just asking for my hair to get dried! Instead, she blowdried half of my bang (Yes - HALF of my bangs!) and said I could wait for the next stylist to finish blowdrying the rest of it, this was after I told her I CANNOT leave here with wet hair because I don't want to risk getting sick ESPECIALLY since I am PREGNANT! I looked at the other stylist and saw that she just started cutting her client's hair. So I asked to use her blow dryer and brush so I can do my own hair instead. Yes, I paid to do my own hair! What a disappointment on an already low-expectation. I didn't know expectations and customer services (or lack of one) could go that LOW. If I could give it a ZERO star, I would. Sophia, you may be friendly, nice and supposedly "Considered (NOT)" - but YOU need to work on your customer service skills. Your actions reflect poorly and added additional dissatisfied customers to SmartStyle. Your actions are unprofessional. I hope you read this and learn from it. Don't pretend to be considerate and start on someone when you know you cannot stay to finish the job.

Holy smokes, boy did I get lucky when I walked in here on a whim looking to change up my hair. Andrea is a goddess of scissors, and I strutted out of here with a great haircut. Everyone here is friendly and warm, and from what I've seen also amazingly talented with all things hair. I've been back twice thus far and plan to keep coming back as long as they'll put up with me. So hard to find a good place like this, I definitely recommend it.
