Sky Salon in Strongsville, OH

It's been several years since I visited Sky Salon. However, my memories are not good. If you don't mind snotty and arrogant stylists, book with Todd. His styles were so-so, but his attitude was quite annoying.

I was referred to Sky Salon by a friend of mine. Her hair always looks so amazing. :-) Damon, the owner, and Hannah Forrester are both excellent stylists. I've used them both. The positive energy here is such a breath of fresh air. Katie, at the front desk, is just amazing. She's just full of positive energy. Always has a smile on her face and eager to serve. :-)

Buyer beware.... I posted this exact review to Sky Salon's facebook site, they deleted it. They are not to be trusted at all.

New in the area. Needed a cut. Saw good reviews and took a chance, albeit with apprehension. Made an appointment and was paired with Jackie. While technically I can't say the cut was bad, the fact that she didn't listen to me and cut it the way she wanted to (after VERY specific direction requesting her to follow the prior cut, to not add layers (she added many, some very short), not taking off more than 1/4" (she went double that) and not point cutting (she did, both dry and wet) resulted in a huge disappointment. Technically the cut was a B grade or better. Not listening to me and following my clearly stated requests garners a F. Now I've lost the lines of the prior cut, I have to wait that much longer till this grows out to take my chances elsewhere and - as happens with my curly hair - will suffer through hair that's not smooth because of the point cutting. So frustrating. Disappointing too because the salon seemed nice enough and the front desk staff was great. Prices were as expected. But the result was GRRRRRRRRRRR.

Loyalty means nothing to this place - all they care about is $. I was a loyal customer for 10 years and left. I left and I'm getting WAY better services at Charles Scott in Westlake. I wish I wouldv'e left sooner. The haircuts are more sophisticated and they use more modern techniques than Sky - that place is stuck in the 90s. The owner has an attitude and so do some of his staff, not all. They always told me they didn't want to cut my hair the way I wanted it citing that my hair, headshape, forehead, etc. wasn't suited to this cut or that cut. They wanted to cut my hair the way THEY wanted it and promptly charge me 70+ dollars for cut only. Same with color, I came out one day with blonde streaks, not my choice! After the receptionist gave me terrible attitude one day, I decided that was it and I haven't looked back since. Do yourself a favor and go to Charles Scott. It's the same price and you'll get the cut/color you want, instead of looking like a Strongsville, Ohio clone.
