Sister Beauty Salon II in Bridgeport, CT

There was one staff person when I arrived. Very rude and refused to do my wash and set. Wanted to just blow dry my hair. I left. Will not return or refer anyone there.

The stylists at this salon are absolutely disappointing. The owner seems very friendly and hospitable but there is one stylist here that has a major attitude problem. I went in to get a simple wash and set (no blow dry). I arrived at the salon around 6:10 p.m. on a Thursday evening. Upon entry I noticed that no customers were inside. I asked the owner if they were closed and she answered that they weren't and to come right in. She pointed me in the direction of the sinks in the back. I sat down and smiled at the woman approaching to wash my hair, my smile was not reciprocated but an angry face was. I let the woman know that I had my own shampoo and conditioner. She proceeded to wash my hair. While the woman with the attitude roughly washed my hair, I communicated that I would like a deep condition treatment (I am natural). She told me no I couldn't get one and that it was too late. As a paying costumer and someone who deep conditions on a weekly basis I was slightly disappointed. At this point she is detangling my hair with the conditioner that I provided. When I say that that was the worst detangling experience of my life, I am not exaggerating. I have pretty fine hair (3b/3c) and detangling my hair isn't hard at all. So I was a bit confused as to why she was being so rough with me. Fast forward to getting the rollers put into my hair. The woman began to section my hair and while doing so, ripped and teared my hair out with her comb. There was no technique or gentleness to her detangling my hair once again. It seemed as if she was doing it purposely because she was upset about how late I walked in. I've been natural for about 5 years and take pride in taking care of my hair. So when I came to this salon and had my hair ripped and yanked out all because of a lady with an attitude, I was truly traumatized. Had I known that would've been the case, I would've never stepped foot in that salon. But being that I've been there a few times before I didn't think I'd experience something like that. If it was too late to get services requested, then the owner should have voiced that upon my arrival. Instead I paid for my hair to get ripped out of my head and for services that didn't satisfy the amount paid. I will never visit this salonagain. They definitely need to do a re-hire and train stylists to work with natural hair efficiently.
