Shelley's Day Spa & Salon in Killeen, TX

I absolutely love Shelley's Salon & Spa. I found Shelley's about 5 years ago and I fell in love with them and have never went anywhere else. Their customer service is phenomenal from the time you walk in you are greeted and asked if you'd like something to drink. They take pride in their training and education. They are constantly learning new technique. The spa is amazing if you've never had a massage or facial from at Shelley's you are missing out. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing. The staff including the owners are all so sweet they go above and beyond to keep the establishment very professional.

I went to Shelley's for the first time two weeks ago. When calling to schedule an appointment I requested a level 6 hairstylist. There was a cancellation for Bobby for the same day and I was scheduled for that spot. I arrived later that day, Bobby seemed rushed so I agreed to leave my hair curly, no need for blow dry. I explained, and she could see I have naturally curly hair and it can be blow-dried smooth, or not it's versatile. I was being thoughtful and grateful for a quick appointment. Bobby cut my hair strictly with thinning sheers, I wasn't satisfied, but, I trusted her she was a "level 6" stylist. Warning: you can't see how bad a haircut is when left curly. Big mistake! The next morning, I washed and blow-dried my hair, it looked like I was electrocuted. I called the salon and they scheduled me to return the next day to allow Bobby to correct it. Bobby said she didn't remember cutting my hair strictly with thinning sheers and apologized. She bluntly cut off the frizz she created and dried my hair. She didn't listen to me even after I showed her pictures. She just didn't seem to care. I understand people have bad days but, I went on two different days and Bobby still seemed very dismissive. I hate giving bad reviews but, I have not received such a bad haircut in a very long time. The salon itself seems terrific and they did the right thing. My review is about being aware of Bobby, she doesn't care.

The Belton salon is very nice. Wine or champagne and snacks on arrival. Very friendly, professional receptionist. Now the bad review. I had a bad experience at another local salon that cut my hair too short. I waited over 2 months for my hair to grow out. I decided to try this upscale salon and was prepared to pay a little more, but it was worth it for a good haircut, especially because I was traveling to California for the holidays. I arrived 15 minutes before the appointment for a consultation as requested. I explained in my consultation that I had a large cowlick in the back of my hair and so the hair needed to be left long in the back. I also explained that my hair on the top bent at the shaft, so I wanted that shorter for height. Mind you I am 72 years old so I know what my hair does and doesn't do. The hairdresser seemed to listened, and when she was done explained that she charged $47 for a haircut a lot more than I am used to paying but I was fine with that. When she started cutting, I knew she was cutting too much off the back and it was too late. She obviously mixed up what I told her. The back was so short I couldn't even get a curling iron on it and the top was so long all it did was stick up like alfalfa. It was so bad and uneven I resorted to wearing hats. It has now been almost 2 months and it's finally growing out enough to look decent. Now, I am afraid to go to any salon.

For starters, they have a very easy online appt system, which makes scheduling a breeze. I came to my appointment 15 min early as requested, since it was my first time going and they needed to go over paperwork. So we sat down and I met my stylist Aubri. Which, by the way, they also have a stylist match function. You can put in what you're looking for, and they match you with who they feel would work best for you. Aubri was one of my matches, and she did not disappoint. I gave her a picture of what I wanted, and she literally matched it. She even asked along the way to double-check the details with length and color. The appointment was relaxing and just what I needed. They offer you a refreshment at the start. Their Products smell divine. It's super clean inside and not super loud. Overall, it is one of the best hair appointments hands down. They also offer the products they used during the appointment, but theirs no pressure to buy. I'm seriously looking forward to my next appointment already. I did my hair only their but they also do nails and skin. Thank you Aubri at Shelley's.

Aubrianna has been doing my hair for a few years now! Her color theory is always ON POINT and I love how she cuts my hair. She listens to what I want, is honest with what she can achieve, and I always leave happy with the results! The salon is always clean and the service is excellent. I highly recommend Shelley's and Aubrey!
