Shear Madness Haircuts for Kids in Kansas City, MO

We tried to get appointments at two other shops because the last time we went to Shear Madness (Olathe) they did a rough job, but the other barbers weren't available, so I figured we'd give this one a shot since it was a different location. As we walked in, a mom was angry at the stylist because the back of the cut was uneven and the stylist tried to tell her it was a cowlick (it wasn't).

Unfortunately we got the same stylist and I showed her a pretty common boys cut (shaved sides, LONG on top). My son came in with a lot of length so it shouldn't have been an issue. Tell me why this lady cut his hair so short and unevenly that the only way to fix it would be to shave him?
At the register, the manager saw it and offered to fix his bangs (since one half is up to his scalp and the other half was longer), but I said no because I didn't want it any shorter. My poor kid left there so sad about his hair. Unfortunately, we're just going to have to let it grow out a bit and gel it so it doesn't look so awful. This was the final straw for Shear Madness and we'll never be back

Horrible! First, I was told that they can do ethnic hair and which they don't. They screwed up my appointment. She messed up my granddaughter's hair and makeup session. They were braiding her hair up like a jigga boo. Then the one of the girls lied and told the owner that I was being rude and yelling at her. The manager was rude

Unless you have an appointment don't both going here. I showed up at opening to get a quick haircut for my child. They had 3 beauticians in store and only one lady that had an appointment. They said the soonest they could see me was the next day in the afternoon! So they proceeded to turn me and another lady away so their beauticians could continue to stand around and do nothing. Wonderful business model.

Shear madness is  amazing! My daughters which are 7, 4, and 9 all loved it! It is such a great place and the stylist were all patent with my  kiddos. My 4 year old can get really talkative and wiggly so the stylist helped her through that! The waiting room is like a miniature toy store, which is good because my kiddos were not bored at all! The cuts are so perfect, once my nine year old got her hair cut too short  at a place but she loved shear madnesses cuts! Everyone was so nice and were kind to my kids! They also had a party for my 7 year old and she said it was the best party ever! I really recommend shear maddness!

This place is hit and miss...
I've had great cuts and horrible cuts.  One of the last times my daughters hair was uneven and crooked.  The stylist kept telling her to sit still if she even slightly moved.  I was thinking, this is a kids haircut place, and you can't handle her moving her head less than a centimeter.  I ended up taking her somewhere else to fix it, but they had to cut an additional 2 inches off her hair to fix it.
The manager did end up giving us a free haircut for next time.  I was very hesitant to go back.  But we did use the free haircut and the experience was average.
I don't think we will be going back.  Just not worth risking paying double...meaning having to get a fix or haircut after.
