Salon Suzette in Waterford Twp, MI

I called last week to ask if they can do spiral perms with long hair. I was told by the owner Suzette yes we can do I decided to take my mother along for a cut and color. I get there and as the girl Claudia was rolling my hair I realized that she was using white regular perm rods and I said I want a SPIRAL perm and she said I have been doing hair for 30 years and these are the right rods. Long story short. I got a regular perm that I DID NOT want and to make it worse, the girl didn't have any thing to put in my hair and asked Suzette to borrow something and she said, use the other one, that's expensive!! My hair was not styled or anything, I left with a wet head looking like a poodle and was charged $250.00, this did include the cut and color for my mother but I will NEVER go there again or refer anyone there. I waited a long time to get my hair done and I regret it. Go at your own risk! Claudia was sweet but I think she knew what she was doing as well as Suzette.

I went in as a new client to get my hair colored and cut. I also needed my eyebrows waxed. I told the stylist what I wanted and she went and mixed the colors. After my hair was done I paid and left. I got home and went to put my hair up in a ponytail and noticed a big line where she had put the color also that my eyebrows were waxed very thin. I called the owner and she asked if I would allow her the chance to try and fix my hair. I went 2 days later and the owner put several highlights in and cut my length shorter like I had wanted. I went to get ready for work the following day and noticed a spot where she missed cutting , and also when I put my hair up the highlights weren't up to my root and you could still see a line between the colors. I texted and called the owner and she's say " quote you said you were happy and you need to find a new salon to help you with your hair needs and I won't be giving a refund. I do not recommend this salon at all. If you dare go you best make sure everything is how or want it or you will be screwed just like I am. I spent over $200 and I have to go and pay another place to fix the mess they made.

It was very disappointing to see that most people (staff and clients) were not masked up. I can't understand why the salon would have signage posted on the window saying that they are that safety precautions are a priority. I had been looking for a new hair salon and stopped in for information on pricing. There was nobody to greet clients at the door (other than the stylists themselves) working. A stylist asked me what I wanted and just looked really irritated when I told her I was looking for pricing information. The lack of safety and unfriendly attitude gave me all the information I needed.

Love this place! I got a hair cut and style from the owner and she did a fantastic job! When I tried to make my appointment with my usual stylist (at a different salon) she was no longer there, and they were booked for the week, so I decided to try Salon Suzette. I am so glad that I did. This will be my new hair salon from here on out. The cut I asked for was not exactly simple, and I was concerned my vision would not show through, but I couldn't be happier with the results. I loved the atmosphere as well. Very clean and comfortable.

Revising my review due to the departure of my longtime stylist. Not a fan of the proprietress's attitudes or behavior.
