Salon Riviera in Redondo Beach, CA

Today I was met with full-on hostility and gross unprofessionalism at Salon Riviera. It used to be a lovely place to go for a respite and for relaxation while you got your hair or nails done--a place to decompress. No more. Don't let the fancy facade and elegant interior fool you. You will only be comfortable here if you accept the owner Victoria's (?) two dogs in your face and other dogs in the salon. The owners' run unleashed, barking at customers or just barking, up, down, and around the salon. They will approach you whether you want them to or not. The owner, upon being politely asked, will not only refuse to protect her customers--she will become contemptuous and angry if you dare even politely request that she keep her dogs from you. This morning the salon was a chaotic circus. All you have to do is watch any "judge" show on t.v. to know that refusing to be thoughtful of clients, ignoring basic human kindness by being deliberate discourteous to another human being--coupled with the unbelievable arrogance of forcing your pets on strangers-- often leads to legal liability. It is not only customer-unfriendly but also legally foolhardy, this from one who knows. Don't get me wrong--the dogs themselves are cute as buttons. But when a customer asks an owner to please keep them at bay, and the owner instead does the opposite just to "show you," the problem is the owner, not her dogs. They don't belong running around in a salon. I suggest the owner run a pet-care grooming salon, not one which caters to humans.

I go to Salon Riviera religiously for my facials with Roya 310-774-7287. I love them, 100% would recommend her service. She is flexible and stands out to me as a esthetician due to her understanding of what the skin truly needs, very thorough extractions and relaxing massages. Plus you get the bonus that you are next to the beach so can enjoy the nearby boutiques or even the beautiful sunsets after the facial :)

Customer service overall left a lot to be desired. $80 for a wet cut with no blow out. Would suggest including a blowout so clients can see the final result prior to leaving the salon.

Kristel is fabulous! She managed to help me get my hair back to feeling myself after a bad box dye experience! She was professional and confident and knew exactly what i wanted... loving my new hair! Thank you, Kristel!

Kristel was great. My balayage and cut came out exactly as I wanted. She was efficient, amiable, and attentive. First time at salon riviera. I live in ny, but when I'm back here I'll book with her again. The salon is clean, spacious, and peaceful. Worth a visit.
