Salon Inks in Richardson, TX

Left pretty upset today. I had an appointment set, when I showed up, only 5 minutes early, no one was there. 5 minutes past my appointment time, my stylist comes flying into the parking lot and lets me in. She doesn't seem to be happy to be there at all. Anyways, she sits me down and asks me what I'd like. I told her I wanted a TRIM, no more than 1.5 inches, and to just get some of the dead ends off. She starts to comb my hair and shows me all the dead parts, explains to me how she can tell and we agree on 1 inch. By the time she was done, she cut over 3 inches off. I can't tell you how devastated I was. I got engaged October of 2020 and was growing out my hair for my wedding. My wedding is now two months away and my hair is so short. I went home and cried, she had even asked me what my hair goals were and I told her it was to grow it out. Its so short that when I began to show it to my friends and fiance, they were shocked. It was so much shorter than I asked for. On top of that, when she was cleaning up my bangs, she made it so that I could wear my bangs on either side of my face. I did not ask for this, nor want this at all. I now have one short chunk of hair on the side I don't wear my bangs on. Its so short it doesn't stay in a ponytail. I now have to pin it back anytime I want my hair up. I am very upset at this and not sure what to do. Thankfully the hair style I picked out for my wedding should still be able to be done, but all that time growing it out was completely wasted. She also cut my hair while it was dry, I've never had any stylist do that, ever. Definitely pretty disappointed. Typically I don't care too much when a hair cut doesn't go as planned, but I'm getting married, and theres no way for me to fix it. I don't think I'll be back honestly. The hair cut overall was cute, but the stylist didn't listen to me at all. I feel like she just cut it how she wanted to.

One star because the shop was nice and clean. So..... I book an appointment with Devyn, they had a great Groupon offer so I took advantage of the deal. I arrive at 8:57 for my 9:00 appointment, she arrives at 9:10. I walk in the salon have a seat and let her prepare, she ask what style are you getting? I say the one listed on Groupon, she says she has a 10 am and won't be able to perform the service because she has another client. She said she text and ask for clarification but the only text I received was the one confirming my appointment. She goes on to say you can just get the wash and blow dry although that's not what I paid for. I'm not negotiating if she text or not but I didn't receive it. In instances like this it is better to call the client if you don't get a response. I try to support my people in all ways possible but this here was just extremely unprofessional. Not going to tell anyone not to go here, but it's a hard pass for me indefinitely.

Welcoming atmosphere and Devin is detailed and does a great job on my lashes and brows, I highly recommend!
