Salon GK in Wantagh, NY

I used to enjoy coming here until one day I came in to get my eyebrows done. I specifically requested one woman to do them. She was watching youtube videos and clearly did not want to stop and basically refused my request. She made her coworker do my eyebrows even though I specifically said I wanted her. I thought that was so unprofessional. Even if she was taking a break or something I would have rather her to ask me to come back another time. That left me annoyed, then the whole time I was getting my eyebrows done she cackled at whatever she was watching. If it weren't for the rude staff I would love to come back because they do a nice job and have great prices.

I have been coming here for nearly 7 years and have never been disappointed. It'll occasionally get busy, but nothing unbearable without feeling rushed. Great price and always friendly!

I make an appointment for makeup and to have my hair curled for my friends wedding. Mind you, I was NOT the bride, just a guest. When I made the appointment the lady on the phone told me it would be $75 which I thought was a little high but whatever. My appointment was with Veronica. When it came time to pay, Veronica charged me $125!!!!! Just curls and makeup! Didn't even have to wash and blow out my hair. I was shocked. Was it my fault for not saying anything about the price? Yes, but I will not be returning there. There's nothing special about the place, it's really just a threading place with a few chairs to do hair as well. I could've went to a high end salon for a cheaper price. I also tipped her $25 because I'm not a jerk. She didn't deserve it nor did that place deserve it. I wasn't impressed with the makeup at all, I had to remove the lip and some of the eye makeup when I got home bc it was too much. I just wanted to get out of there. I also went there about two months ago for a root touchup. For some reason, the color didn't take to my hair. It clearly wasn't permanent dye even though they told me it was. So it was around 7:00 at that time, they rushed me out of the salon bc they were closing. The girl that did my hair(forgot her name) was telling me how amazing the color looked, but it looked exactly the same as when I walked in the place. But shame on me for never speaking up. Bottom line, I will never return here. I'd rather go to a high end salon and get ripped off instead of getting ripped off at this place. I'm not a cheap person by any means, but when you're providing a service for people and you only care about taking their money it's only a matter of time that the place will be out of business. I came there because it's convenient and I can make an appointment the day before or the same day. It's very sad. Won't be returning ever again

Just left getting my eyebrows threaded and they were not only quick but inexpensive and suuper friendly. Will definitely come back!

Got eyebrows threaded, the lady was very professional, made me feel very comfortable, and did a great job, exactly what i wanted, and it was quick and the price was right!
