Salon De Matteo in Westport, CT

I used to see Teri for my cut, but ended up going elsewhere as I didn't seem to mesh well with her anymore. She became a little too opinionated and meddling for my taste. Her cut was also very expensive and I left there the last several times unsatisfied. Donna is excellent for color and the receptionists were always friendly and accommodating.

My mom and I visited Salon Dematteo for a wedding hair trial in September. We were recommended by a good friend of mine who has used Donna Fossati for years. This friend is constantly the center of our hair envy so I knew Donna would be wonderful. The salon itself was organized and clean, even though it was very busy at the time we arrived. Donna Fossati cut and styled my mom's hair in preparation for my wedding. Her hair looked absolutely stunning and my mom, a former hair dresser, LOVED it! We were so pleased by Donna's work that we asked her to be the stylist for my entire bridal party. I cannot say enough about Donna's talent. I live in Westchester but will be traveling to Salon Dematteo to have my hair done by Donna from now on. She is the best!

I've driven by this beautiful salon daily and never noticed it... but visited today for the first time, per the reviews....and LOVE!!!  Friendly, cozy, pretty, and Anthony greeted me with a smile and gave me the best cut I've had in years!!  Took time to know what I liked and didn't like and transformed me!! Love my "do" and Anthony is the best! Thank you, Anthony! And everyone at this amazing salon!!

I have no idea why there aren't hundreds of reviews for this place. It's Westport's best kept secret.

I can't remember how I discovered this place but I've been seeing Nikki for my mani/pedis since I moved to CT. And she is the love of my life. Super flexible and accommodating and wow, amazing work. She's been doing nails for 20+ years so if you care how your nails look and last, go to her. Not to mention, she also uses the most incredible products (super expensive stuff that smells fantastic - like the Indonesian ginger lotion from SpaRitual, trust me it's pricey because I ordered a bottle). Can't say enough good things about Nik...I almost don't want to tell anyone about her so that she doesn't get too popular for me :)

I also got a haircut with Anthony, the salon owner, and well - I've never received so many compliments. He's great.

The entire staff is wonderful - sincere, kind, respectful, gracious. I will never go anywhere else as long as I live in this state.

I feel compelled to address a negative review posted as a client of Annemarie and Anthony for 15 years who happened to personally witnesses the events described in the review.  The woman who wrote the review and I had vastly different experiences on that day. My experience was as it has been for 15 years - professional, experienced and collaborative.

The woman and her mother were clearly not regular clients at a high end salon which is not a judgment as much as an observation. As the client said, "everything was fine and everyone got along" until they went to pay the bill which was clearly more than they expected.  Annmarie is extremely professional and was somehow managing to remain patient with this woman's unrelenting demands and criticisms.  Annmarie is unconcerned with who is right or wrong, only that her clients expectations are met. I watched Meghan - the receptionist - address the woman's concerns with kindness, empathy and professionalism and consistent with salon policy.  Anthony is the reason the salon is the long-time success that it is in a community known for chasing "the next best thing" and treats his staff and clients with the utmost respect.

The salon and people this interloper describes is not my Salon Dematteo.  I suggest she find a salon that she is more comfortable with.

As a transplanted NY'er I searched a very long time to find talent comparable to my salon in NYC.   Fifteen years later I have, and would, follow Annemarie and Salon DeMatteo anywhere.
