I am disabled, and I struggle to use my arms. As a result, I cannot use a straightener or put my hair up, and I needed a solution so I came here for keratin straightening treatment to make my hair more manageable. Prior to treatment, I asked multiple times if I would need to use a straightener, because otherwise, I would not get the treatment, and I was assured more than once that I would not. I was even shown another customer with stick straight hair and told my hair would look like that. I followed the rules of waiting to wash my hair and using the right shampoo, but after a week, as you can see in the photo, my hair is not straight. And this was not a cheap treatment. I paid $600. The salon has acknowledged that my hair is not straight, but is refusing to refund my treatment. I do not recommend this salon.
I was feeling unhappy with my hair color and I thought I would try a new (to me) salon. I made an appointment with Luba at Salon de Larue purely based on the reviews. I am thrilled that I did. Luba suggested I stop in prior to my appointment and took lots of time to figure out exactly what I wanted. I left the salon after my appointment very happy with my color -- Luba gave me exactly what I wanted. I will now be a regular at the salon. In addition to being a talented colorist, Luba works very efficiently, and the salon is very well run.
It's so hard to find a good colorist who can do a classy blonde. These days, living in NY, we have so many options that it becomes incredibly overwhelming. Luba is not good, she's GREAT! She really listened to me, what I was looking for, and then she delivered exactly what I wanted. She's patient, detail oriented and very skilled.
Tried this salon after reading other reviews and I'm so glad I did. Luba was great! I have fine but curly hair and I can never seem to find a cut that suits my face and that I can actually do myself, once I leave the salon. Luba figured it out. I'm so happy with how my hair is now, I will definitely be back!
Awesome salon! Very clean and well maintained. Luba cut my hair and did an AMAZING job. Got tons of compliments. Luba was incredibly nice, professional, and accommodating. Would recommend this salon and Luba to anyone in the area- and I will definitely be coming back soon!
