Salon Aura in Dallas, TX

Not too impressed with this place. Got their a little early before my hair appointment. Sat down, and waited ..no one greeted me or really made me feel welcomed. Bizarre customer service or lack of. I thought it would have been a great experience considering I just moved close to the neighborhood and I'm new. Very disappointed. I did like my hair cut though . But due to the lack of customer service I thought this place was horrible. I would not recommend this place..

I decided to get my hair colored/ cut and came across this salon which I wish I didn't... Albert is a friendly hair stylist however he is not cut out to do balayage/dye hair. I asked for balayage caramel tones and after he washed my hair the color was orange! I asked to make it darker, so he put toner in my hair and made it one shade darker which did not do anything as now the color is a burnt orange/blonde-Nothing like the pictures I showed him and the smell of the dye/toner still remains in my hair. The only good thing that came out of this was the haircut. Extremely frustrated with the color and the amount of money spent (over priced) as I have to get it done all over again and pay more money to fix it.

Best place in the world ! Ok, I've got to set up this scenario. It's a week before my daughters prom and she RUINS her hair color and it is outright orange ! Its Sunday late afternoon and I can't find anyone willing to take this mess on. Most places are closed and the rest of the places simply don't have time. Then we call the only other place google says is still open... we call and get Albert at Aura. Co owner Albert says come on over and he stays open for hours to repair my daughters hair. And to top it off he charged me oddly enough exactly what he knew I had which to be clear was far less than he deserved for 4 hrs on a Sunday evening. Suffice it to say we make the trek to Dallas anytime Katie needs her hair redone.

I followed Silked by Sonnie for a while on social media and decided to give her a try. Pros: She's very personable and knowledgeable about natural hair types and textures. Cons: She was late, and didn't listen. I wanted to touch up my blonde highlights, I ended up with a copper brown tone and a couple blonde pieces. Even showed her a picture, what I got was completely different.

Sonnie is an absolute curly/natural hair genius. In my 30 years I've never had anyone care for my hair in the way she had, including myself! She was like a doctor with the precision and care, and she educates you on top of that. I learned so much during my session with her- it was a hair care class and hair care treatment all in one. My curls have never ever bounced the way that they do now, and it was worth every penny. My hair has never been softer nor more hydrated. She taught me how to properly set my hair and suggested 6 great products which were all used on me today. I am astounded by her work- her knowledge clearly shows and I couldn't be happier. If you've got curly and textured hair, Sonnie is must see!
