Remix Nail Salon in Portland, OR

I wanted to like this shop, because it was in my neighborhood. I went for my first appointment and the nail tech stated she hadn't done Gel X nails in a while. It took over four hours to complete the job. ‍‍‍ OK, she said she was out of practice. I was willing to give her another try. I scheduled another appointment in hopes this visit will be less then 3 hours. Upon showing up I see owner jump in car and leave as I park in driveway. Upon entering the shop the tech sitting behind desk informs me my nail tech Shauntelle never came to work. I'm like, "really! No one could call me and let me know".  

Tech- "oh, no-one called". I wouldn't be here, if they did. The tech apologized, but at this point I was irritated, because the owner could have said something. The tech asked, if I wanted to schedule another appointment. I asked her, would you and left the shop. I would never do business at this shop again. The nails and art was good, but not worth the unprofessionalism and disrespect to their customers time. Same thing happened to my girlfriend I referred to the shop before I knew what I was dealing with. Her first appointment the same nail tech was still working on another customer a hour into her scheduled appointment. No one apologized or checked in with her. She had to ask how long and why schedule a appointment, if you're going to sit for a hour. The owner then apologized and gave her a certificate for a free set. The owner assured her if she rescheduled and come back, she would do her nails. My friend rescheduled and came back on the agreed upon date. Owner not there. Even, if a emergency occurred let your customer know your cancelling the appointment.  Just like the business owner should be informed, if a customer needs to cancel. No call, text or email to let my friend know that she needed to cancel the appointment. I predicate that remix is not going to be in business long with these shady business practices. Don't waste customers time. I would rate 1 star, but my nails after 4 plus hours were cute.

I corrected my previous review. I thought my friend said the shop was closed. The owner just wasn't at the shop to do her nails.

My friend and I came here to get our nails done for her wedding. Friendly staff, and they came out great for both of us! Highly recommend :)

Let me start by saying I have been spoiled with great salons being that I'm from the Bay Area. Let me tell you Remix is absolutely amazing! I sat with Maria, and she was such a delight! She's really good and thorough, and has a really good energy to top it off. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone who is tired of getting their nails done badly and would like a new place to actually be a regular at!
