Long story short. I went in with long, natural hair. Two months later, I had to cut my hair off because it wouldn't stop shedding. I had bald spots in the back. These ppl are liars! They only want your money. They are unprofessional, ignorant as well as argumentative and unapologetic to their customers who raise concerns about their hair. They will disrespect any customer right in front of others like disputes are everyday occurrences in their place of business. I went to them for a color change and silk press. Shun did my hair. But, I had made the appoint with her coworker, Tina. After Shun did my hair, my hair started shedding bad that night. I went back to her to fix my hair. The color didn't take at all in the back of my head. The grays were still visible in the front. The color she gave me was not what I asked for. I also found out that she used a dye and not the rinse that I asked for. I stopped using dyes at least 10 years ago. Everything that went wrong with my hair was due to Tina and Shun. They, along with another coworker, verbally attacked me in the salon in front of a patron. They said I brought negative energy into the shop. Talk about crazy in the workplace! Visit at your own risk.

Aklia and Tina are great! They guided me through my loc journey from the starter twists to year one and counting. I could not be happier. No complaints with either. Love the salon!

Great atmosphere, Great people, Great prices for the level of expertise and FAST work. This is my new regular shop. 4 years later I'm still getting great work, priced and environment!! Aklia is the best!!! She's experienced, friendly, and works 1-2 hours faster than anyone that's ever re-twisted or styled my dreads!!

I have never encountered such unprofessionalism ever in my life as a person in as someone that has curly hair. I went to Rehab Salon in hopes of finding a curly hair specialist to help me improve the definition of my curls, add more volume in my hair, and find ways to improve hair's health as a whole. However, thanks to Shun (who was my stylist): MY HAIR WAS RUINED. I was supposed to get a hair consultation first but she almost didn't do so and was going to wash it until I stopped her before we began. I showed her pictures from previous years until now and asked her if my hair lacked protein or moisture, but she said that my hair was not damaged and apparently my curls got "bigger" which is why they're not "as tight as they used to be," I asked her what we will be doing since I was on a budget at the time, and she said that she was going to wash and cut my hair only which I agreed to. Well, she ends up doing a treatment without my permission and I had to call her out because I was not notified of this. Any client getting a service MUST be asked if they want a treatment for their hair before applying it to ensure they are paying for what they wanted. She said it was a scalp conditioning treatment to condition my roots in order to moisturize my curls, so I just let it slide this time and let her do her own thing considering she's the "professional" who knows how to take care of curly hair. After the treatment is done, she doesn't even diffuse my hair for one minute and blows dries the rest of my hair down. Curly hair is meant to be diffused for a long period of time, not blow dried straightforward because otherwise it will be straightened in the process. She then cuts my hair and finishes with a spray to make my hair shiny, but when she showed me the mirror: I was devastated. For $90, Shun made my hair look like I had brushed it out harshly and it was so dry that you could literally see my split ends. Shun stated that she "tried" everything to revive my hair but that, and I quote, "you don't have curly hair: you have straight, fine, caucasian hair. I washed your hair and it was straight when it got wet, and curly hair doesn't straighten in water. Regardless of the treatments, this is the best I can do unless you want me to go shorter." I knew this was a lie because when I wash my hair, my curls become wavy in the shower and then curl up when I diffuse them. She didn't diffuse my hair or do anything asides from blow dry it and cut it so badly that my split ends worsened. It was just the fact that she first said my curls were getting bigger and then contradicting herself saying that I don't have curly hair. I kept telling her that I do have curly hair and that I showed her pictures of my hair again, but she literally kept reinforcing and insisting that I have "white, caucasian, straight, fine hair," She asked one more time if I was in favor of her cutting my hair to "make it curlier," but I instantly refused and said no. I was so heartbroken that I didn't bother fighting back right there concerning her insensitive comments and behavior so I ran home crying, showered, and called her manager to report what happened. The manager claims Shun was sorry but that apparently there was a "miscommunication issue," because I wasn't speaking up about what I wanted. I told her everything and how regardless I tried to communicate with her, she kept insisting my hair is fine, caucasian, and straight. The manager said, "At least you got your refund," but I was so heartbroken and traumatized from the whole experience that I don't think I'll be able to go to any hair salon for months. These pictures below show how my hair is normally and after going to the salon. Literally, you can see the picture on the left side of how my hair normally is. While yes, it is fine and not thick curly hair: It is CURLY, not straight. On the right side, here is a magnificent photo I took of Shun's work and how she straight-up damaged my hair. So, if you're reading this Shun: Check out my very fine, straight hair it totally isn't curly, LOL! Checkmate! So, in other words, unless you want brushed out hair and trauma for $90: DON'T GO THERE.

I must say, this was the worst haircut I have ever gotten. Period. I rarely ever write negative reviews because I always want to give businesses, and people, the benefit of the doubt. But after a few days of looking at myself and being utterly upset, I decided I didn't want anyone else to suffer this same fate. I walked in this past Friday evening and was greeted by Tina, the stylist who ultimately botched my hair. I gave her a picture of the style I wanted (see the photo below of me smiling!) and I told her that I just wanted it a little shorter than before but I wanted the same style. She obliged. Throughout the session she was heavily distracted with some personal matter on the phone. She frequently stopped to text and call and it made me a bit weary of her handling my hair but, nonetheless, I trusted her. This was, after all, a Black establishment adorned with beautiful Black art, the atmosphere punctuated by Afro beats. I thought to myself, there's no way I could leave here unhappy! I'm in good hands. I couldn't have been more wrong. She began by cutting my hair with clippers and asking me strange questions like "do you want me to cut half or just trim??" and proceeded to talk me into believing I should get it way shorter so that it's easier it manage. Usually my stylist don't ask me binary questions like this, they just ask me what length I want to keep and give me options. But she seemed bent on having me cut it shorter. Anyway, I foolishly obliged. So, as she was shaping my hair I couldn't see what was happening because I was turned away from the mirror. It wasn't until the end where I realized she shaped my hair to make me look like a cone-head. She kept the top long, which was not what I wanted and the the finger curls she gave me looked like worms growing from the top of my head. And she cut it way way shorter than what I wanted. And she kept telling me it was "fine" that it was short, instead of listening to me or reading my concerns. I don't care that you think/thought it was fine. Your opinion means nothing when I leave cause it's my face that has to wear this head. And this whole thing cost me more than $100. Anyway. I smiled and left, but never never ever again will I go to Tina again.
