Red's Salon in Woodland, CA

So I was recommended this salon by my best friend and told to go to someone named Chrissy. My experience was to say the least, one I wouldn't forget. Not just because my cut and style came out perfect per say but because of my EXPERIENCE. Chrissy makes you feel very special and I absolutely love her passion for hair. I noticed when I came to write a review, someone had totally dogged on her really like not giving constructive criticism at all. More like sh*t talking her. It blew my mind because I just saw her and she was feeling down about a "client" she had disappointed, and wished she could fix it. She was really bummed and not until JUST NOW do I understand why! She was so so upset that her client was not satisfied. If it was me I would have been pissed at that chick for dogging me and making me look HORRIBLE which is so messed up, cuz Chrissy is not perfect but her imperfections make her art 10 times better. She is always striving to learn and please her clients. Chick should have understood that Asian hair especially being so dark and when exposed to the sunlight turns tones under the top layers even tho you can't see them! So of course it's going to be multiple colors of blonde. Who's crazy enough to go that far in color in one session anyways! It's doable but damn I think Chrissy just didn't want to ruin your hair lady!! Chrissy has brought me from dark red brown to platinum blonde and honey blonde and back to full red and then ash blonde. I'm honestly blown away by that review. Shit talker not a helpful yelper. Anyways. Chrissy doll you are so selfless and wonderful. I feel like I've known you my whole life! Christine has been doing my highlights for over a decade. She is from San Diego and very good with highlights and going blonde. She has brought me back from black, brunette and red box dyes to the blonde in the picture above. She has given me trendy shag layers, melts, peek a boos, balayage and more. She has done my whole head platinum white and blonde highlights all without it being damaged and leaving with healthier hair then I came in with. She know what your hair will need, if it can't be done in one session without breaking she will have you come back. Master stylist is the title she deserves. Thank you Chrissy! You always make it last for months which is so important in these times where we need our money to last!

Came to reds salon to get a balayage with virgin hair and had a nightmare experience. Chrissy was super fun at first and I loved her energy. She was saying how confident she was that my hair would look amazing and that I'd only need to come in every 6 months or so to touch it up. She said how she had 20+ years experience and learned how to do Asian hair in San Diego. She said she was proud of her work and wanted to make her clients happy, even mentioning how some stylists she used to work with weren't as good. Lmao what a joke! I was there for about 6 hours and not only was it so painful because she was being so rough with my hair, it also came out so incredibly splotchy and uneven. I was super shocked at all the different colors... when I mentioned it to her, she said purple shampoo would fix it (it obviously did not lol). I asked her for a refund because of how much it'll cost to color correct it and she said it'd only required a touch up and I should be patient. She lied and said she told me it'd take multiple sessions (which doesn't even matter because I told her I'd be ok with a darker color so I can work up to it in multiple sessions. Who even lets you walk out with hair like that?). It was so incredibly embarrassing to have hair like that. I wore my hair up the entire time after going to Reds and even canceled plans with friends because of it. I was desperate to get it fixed so I asked her for a sooner appointment. Instead of taking responsibility, she just kept implying I was being dramatic. Thank god I didn't let Chrissy touch my hair again. I reached out to another hairdresser for their opinion and they were so shocked by how awful of a job Chrissy did. Not only was the bleach uneven around my head, it was also uneven on the actual individual strands. The whole time my new hairdresser did my hair she kept asking me what happened, what on earth Chrissy did, and if she was on something because it was so weird and randomly bleached. It took another 6 hours, $300+, & a miracle to fix. It's so messed up that Chrissy didn't refund me after having this super awful experience, but hopefully I can prevent other ppl from experiencing her terror. Save yourselves and go elsewhere. Chrissy gave me the best cut and color in decades, yes, decades. I asked for a little highlights, but she gently suggested we first take care of the health of my hair. I liked that idea, I know my hair is fragile and was actually glad she didn't do highlights. Even my friends complimented me on the color. It was such a great color match you couldn't even tell where my Covid roots grew out. She has a return customer and DIL was impressed, so she is making an appt, too. I loved her personality and she's also a great singer!!!

Wendy squeezed me in super short notice today and blew me away! This was my first haircut (that wasn't great clips) in over a decade. I went in for a shag and she was so fast and efficient but made me feel so welcome! My hair feels light and healthy. Her blow-out skills are insane. Overall, 10 out of 10. I won't go anywhere else.
