Quizhpe's Beauty Salon in Chicago, IL

My favorite person to go to here at Quizhpe's is always Denice because she flawlessly does my eyebrows and cuts my hair every single time. Unlike the other ladies who will try and tell you (and insist) that you should get something you dont really want. Denice always listens and may suggest a style if you want her to, but wont push anything youre not going for. You cant beat the price of $10 or $12 for a haircut if you have long thick hair (like I do) My husband also goes to Denice and she leaves him looking really fresh with a great cut and beard shave. Shes gentle enough that she never knicks him like other barber shops do. Thanks Denice!

Not a great place for a woman's haircut. Most of the stylists do not have skill enough for a diverse catalog of styles. I had a pixie cut and wanted just a little trim to keep the mullet effect at bay. Decided I didn't want to pay too much to cut so little hair so I went here. Explained what I wanted very clearly. I came out looking like an 18 year old boy headed for the Navy, buzzed around the sides with hair piled on top. That was my most humiliating haircut ever and my last trip to Quizhpe's.

This is the first $5 haircut shop when I enter W.Lawrence Ave. from Broadway St. All I need is a simple haircut, no fancy, no perm or any kind. They speak Spanish all the time with each other, but most of them understand and speak English pretty well. I expect these affordable community / neighborhood haircut Salon will be more and more since you go west through W. Lawrence Ave. there are bunches of them. Tip them well after the cut is done.

Not bad for a 5 dollar haircut. Make it 10, because I figure a good cut is worth at least 10 bucks. So I walked in 5 minutes before posted closing time, but they were happy to oblige. 15 minutes later I walked out with a decent cut, and it only cost me 10 dollars. Lots of very nice looking Hispanic girls in here! I'm not sure how much they understood of what I asked for, but the end result was good. If you live in the neighborhood, it's worth stopping by. AND....since it's ONLY 5 BUCKS A CUT... TIP WELL!!!!!

In my neighborhood there are no less than 5 $5 haircut joints within six blocks walking distance. My usual Wendy's and Vanessa's was packed almost out the door today, so I decided to dice roll Quizhpe's to get my hair did before my friend's wedding party tonight. I dropped in and saw about three people waiting in line, but apparently they were waiting for people getting haircuts so I was seated immediately on a Friday at 5:30pm. Sat down, the lady popped some stuffing on my collar so hair would not drop in then put a towel on my shoulders. #1 fade with scissor cut on top, please! The hair stylist gave me a fade all the way to the top of the dome which was higher than other places generally do and took great care near the top. The scissor cut began and I was getting worried because I was pretty sure I was starting to look like someone who escaped planet of the apes with a chimpanzee haircut. I was actually getting mad about it, but then combed my hair forward and it looks great. Of course with a $5 haircut you get an obligatory razor shave on your hairline and they do a good job getting all of the hair out of your head so you don't need to shower again right after.
