Had an Appt this week for a gel manicure. The technician was very nice and immediately applied the foils to remove the gel I currently had on my nails. Once I sat in her chair she explained to me that due to COVID, she was charging an additional $5 for the use of a fresh nail file and buffer. I wasn't too happy with this as those are necessary items to complete the service I was paying for. I would have left had I not had the foils on my fingers. She could sense my frustration and said it's precautionary to not transfer germs. She still used already opened nail polish, a brush from her drawer, and the electric nail file head all not brand new and very much used on other clients, so the extra charge was completely taking advantage of your clients. I gave three stars because aside from the ripoff, she did seem nice and did a good job otherwise. With tip, it was $42 for my gel manicure. That's insane!

I'm not sure of the new management, but I have gone here once a year, during Mother's Day season for a good spring time pedicure. The service has been fantastic and the work is meticulous even though I've had different techs each time. Not a fan of gel nails. I tried it last year for an event I was going to and one fell off within a couple of hours. By morning, three of the nails were missing the coating in dishwater. I had to do my nails over at home. It was a waste of money. The regular manicures and pedicures were excellent. I'll go back to check the new management layout and performance to report an update.

Told my fiancé, quite rudely, they don't do waxing on the face, huge sign in the window flashing "WAXING". Very poor form and service. They looked busy but an honest answer of "we are busy, it might be a while" makes way more sense than, "We don't do that" while clearly advertising you do. False advertising or terrible customer service, you pick..

Shellac lasts a full 2-3 weeks here (grown out by 3 weeks but not chipping or peeling) also, they're under new management, their hours are more accommodating and they have newer pedicure chairs. This is my "go-to", hands down my favorite place to get my nails done.

For some inane reason I decided I wanted to get acrylics after not having had them for about 4-5 years. I wasn't sure who in the Scotia area was good, but I read good reviews on Queen Nails on Yahoo. The lady who did my nails, Doris, was really nice, but totally botched my nails. Not only was the acrylic itself uneven, but my nails were filed uneven and the tips were put on at a weird angle. I ended up having to go to another salon to have them filed down and fixed. I noticed today too that not even a full week later the acrylic is already lifting towards the cuticles! I also wasn't too pleased that you can't tip the nail tech using a credit card. Thankfully I had some cash on me, but if I hadn't it would've been a major inconvenience!
