Pure Salon Spa in Portland, OR

I've been going to Pure Salon Spa for hair color and facials since 2019. Pure Salon always makes every visit feel like more than just a beauty session, but a wellness experience. Sophie the receptionist always gives me the kindest welcome. And Jamie's facials have not just made my skin glow, but lifted me up when I was going through personal struggles. Thank you, Pure, especially for being a part of my bridal beauty regimen--I felt so supported!

Tash is incredible at what they do-quality of service, quality of connection, and quality of care are all very high. Whatever they are getting paid is not enough! Working with Tash is a co-creative experience where they check in with you along the way to see what you are thinking of the progress and how to move forward.

They have a rich knowledge of anti-racist practices in hair, trauma informed care, neurodivergent informed care, and also queer informed care.

I could see them really excelling at working with queer or questioning individuals and youth in a loving, fun, supportive, affirming, and mindful way.

Janie crushed my haircut and was great to talk to throughout my time in her chair. She took my long unhealthy locks up a couple inches and it's noticeably healthier now. Looking forward to my next cut & color in a few months.

Lori understands textured hair, and delivers each time I go. I'm someone who admires the loud colors but always sticks to a more traditional look.. however It's hard for my hair not to brass up. I feel she understands my needs and the way I desire my hair to look like. At the end effortless and manageable while still being a little trendy is important. I do love the grow out of a color she did for me In the summer.. the only thing is that I grey easily and if I could I would see her at least once if not twice a month. Also lori is just an amazing soul!! The salon is lucky to have her and her talent!

I could say things like "Lori C. is a color master straight from babely outer space", or "Molly is a peach and makes the space feel very welcoming and warm and I'd like to know how she keeps all of those salon plants alive and thriving"......which are both v.true.  But when making recommendations on salons, it's hard these days to just take a strangers word for it. So here are some facts that I think makes this salon one of best in PDX.
1) they don't overbook their stylists. Every guest gets the attention they deserve, and aren't hustled out the door on the thirty minute mark to plop another $$person$$ in their chair.
2) the space is clean and full of light. Not too cluttered and flow feels organic--not like they hastily slapped the space together and opened the doors.
3) they give you ample reminders for your upcoming appointments, and then also return voicemails. This is huge. I can't believe the lack of customer service these days in general.
4) I'm an observant person, and to that end--all of the stylists here seem to have a good handle on "reading their guest". You can tell when a customer doesn't want to chat too much, and the stylists are hip to that.

Check them out. Yeah, parking can be a bitch, but you probably live in PDX if you're reading this and N. Mississippi is no strange neighborhood to you. Plan ahead.
