It took a lot of phone tag to get an appointment but Kate was very kind and we persisted. We finally had one for a Monday. Then she called to ask to switch it to Wed. at 3pm. She said she was very busy because she was the only one at the salon. I am very busy too, so I get it. I showed up a little before the arranged time and waited over 30 minutes. The other stylist there was kind enough to call Kate, but Kate did not come or respond to phone calls and did not contact me afterwards (it has been 4 days now). I hope Kate is ok! However, in the meantime, I looked at their pricing. Primp charges much more for women than for men. I just wanted to cut off my split ends, not style, nothing special and was immediately quoted at $100 where as the rate for men said I think between $45 and 65. I am fine to pay stylists well; I agree they deserve and need that especially if I am doing something fancy, but it seems so sexist to automatically charge women so much more for the same simple thing.

I was regularly seeing Amanda, and was happy to schedule with her even with the limited hours! During my last cut, I showed up on time only to be told that she was not there due to unforeseen circumstances. This is completely understandable, and I get that emergencies arise. However, I didn't receive a text or a call to let me know. I rescheduled, and had a good cut. On Friday, 8/20 at 4:30pm I was scheduled to come in for my next cut. I received text confirmation and all. I show up, and not only is Amanda not there, the salon itself is closed and locked. Again--no call or text. This is particularly frustrating because they clearly have my contact information if I receive a confirmation text. This means it was booked in a system and there should have been record of my appointment. I was contacted the next day to be informed that apparently Amanda no longer works here. No matter the circumstances, I should have been informed that my appointment was cancelled. I planned for that time months in advance, and will now have to wait for another stylist to have availability. If you expect reliable communication, this is not the salon to visit.

Highly recommend! I have been going to Primp for years now. Both Amanda and Kate have done great things with my half wavy, half straight, normally limp hair. Erica has given my son amazing cuts for a long time as well.

Kate at Primp Salon is the very, very best! Master stylist, great personality, and beautiful cuts, colors and so knowledgeable about hair conditions, products and up to date looks! I could not be happier, I highly recommend Kate and her salon!
