Payton Place Salon in North Little Rock, AR

My first experience was great. I felt catered to and left satisfied. Since they are quite pricey, it was about 5 months before I was able to afford to go back. They were newly moved into their new location. Everything was rushed, and the little "extras" were not available. In fact, I waited 30 minutes for the assistant to return from lunch to blow dry my hair, meanwhile my stylist was having a very loud and inappropriate conversation with her next client. I finally got my hair styled, and it was nothing like I had asked for. The color was off, and since I had already been there for three hours at this point, I made an appt to return the next day to have my my color re done. I received a call the next morning at 9 saying that my stylist had an emergency and wasn't able to see me. But we could reschedule for next week! I had an uneven mullet and bad color? When the receptionist called to reschedule me I voiced how put off I felt. She offered to have owner call me. It's been over six weeks and still haven't received a call? I would never go there again. Prices are inconsistent (I was charged, and paid $40 more for the second visit), receptionist is rude and my hair looks like it was done at a beauty school by a blind stylist. Really worth the $120 I paid!

I typically do not write negative reviews.  I have gone to this salon in the past and have had amazing experiences. Which is why my last visit was so extremely disappointing.   The salon is quite expensive but I had decided to splurge and treat myself.  When I arrived, it was not an Aveda salon any longer and the person I booked my appointment with was no longer there. I was not told this prior to my appointment or asked if this was acceptable to me.  The person that brought me back to my appointment was very nice.  However, the appointment was interrupted by a coworker and she began to take over my treatment.  After being at my appointment for 4 1/2 hours my previously healthy hair had been processed extremely light and a toner applied.  I advised the technician that my hair did not respond well to toner, she abruptly replied with "let's just try it her way".   We did, and it did not turn out well.  So, she again applied a toner to fix the mistake.  This didn't work the first time nor did it work the second time. I obviously ran out of time after being in the salon for approximately 5 1/2 hours and of course extremely disappointed and didn't even get a haircut.  I left the salon feeling absolutely terrible, not beautiful like I had anticipated.  I decided to share my disappointing experience with the salon owner.   After much consideration, she decided an adequate response was to refund my haircut... a service that I didn't even receive.  You can imagine my extreme disappointment.  North Little Rock is not a metropolitan area and to charge over $200 for a service... you should leave feeling like a rock star!  

I hope to share this experience so that this brings an awareness of the responsibility behind charging a over the top fee should equate to providing an over the top experience.  I had to go to another salon and pay to get my color corrected and pay for haircut.      I am professional sales person and pride myself in giving my customers a high level of customer service.  I have limited amount of  free time but felt my responsibility to leave a review.

My experience was subpar, I did not receive the expected luxurious services, and my concerns were not validated.

I'll only let this talented ladies touch my hair!!  One of the best places in Central Arkansas!

I love this place! They know what they are doing and are very helpful at helping you find a style for your face shape. Andrea did my hair and I am so happy with it. You get a shampoo and cut for a very reasonable price. Also they didn't force their products on you which I loved. They just suggested items that would help my hair  and let me decide. And in the end I still got them ( without being pressured).

Honestly go there you won't be disappointed.

I love this salon. I love that they use Aveda products. One thing that you must know is that these stylists are constantly bettering themselves. They attend professional developments, and continually craft their skill. I really respect that.
