Orbit Salon in Birmingham, AL

I have been hesitating to be seen at a salon for years. I decided to try again, this time at Orbit, and the experience fell nothing short of amazing. From the moment I called in, did a quick & convenient online consultation, got an appt for *that* weekend, I knew it would be great. The staff is very friendly and the salon itself has a modern Birmingham vibe to it. I recommend seeing Vera Nika -- she brought my vision to life and was great company. I will definitely return!

I cannot say enough about the people at Orbit! I was a dedicated client to Wheelhouse salon but after a HORRIBLE cut and color I went to Orbit and they truly saved the day!! Mackey did an amazing job on the color and Caitlyn did a great job fixing the cut. They made me feel like a whole new person and managed to fit me in on such short notice. I'll be back!

Im a stylist myself and needed someone in bham to shape my coily hair (which i silk press myself).

For some reason it just felt right. After reading the reviews, i reached out & Pamela at the front desk was amazing at navigating me to Peter through an email consultation.

He did exactly what we discussed and it's actually one of the best shapings/cuts I've had in a long time.
As a stylist we can be super picky and annoying. Not here! I immediately felt comfortable and assured he knew exactly what i was asking. He even slowly walked through the process a little at a time to be even more sure.

Not much else to say the experience was amazing, the salon is super cute and comfy, everyone was welcoming and approachable. Had a nice lil convo with Chance who styles next to Peter.

Will be seeing Peter again when i need my pesky ends cleaned up and layers shaped again.

LOVE IS IN THE HAIR!

When moving to a new city I had to leave my old hair stylist behind. :/ I loved her and all the things she would do for me. (Free dye jobs, discounts on products, fun conversations) all that jazz. (Sara has also known me for years, so I can't exactly compare).

I looked up a good place to get my hair done here in Birmingham and stumbled upon this amazing little hole in the wall hair salon.

The outside it looks like nothing, but when you go inside you realize you are in a little underground wonderland of all things hair. Theres a wall of hair products that they use in the salon and a list of all the services they offer.

I got all checked in and then was able to meet my new hair stylist Dylan. She brought me back to her little corner where I sat in a chair and we discussed what I wanted to do with my hair. I wanted something simple to start off. Just wanted to chop 2-3 inches off. I figured if I was starting with a new stylist I wanted to see how she could do with a simple hair cut at first. (My trial run).

I was telling her that I have recently noticed that my hair is getting very frizzy and there is a lot of breakage. She asked me if I have ever used any hair oil in my hair and I said no. She later explained that when you put hair oil in your hair it will tame the hair down because when your hair gets frizzy, its because the hair is wanting to grasp onto moisture. So instead it grasps the moisture that is in the air. I did not know this prior.. (I guess I learned something new today).

Overall, it was a great first run with a new hair stylist. I really enjoyed my time here with her. I will be back for sure. I do have highlights/dye in my hair currently so when that washes out then I will need to go back to get it put back in. Can't wait to see what she does when it comes to color/highlights.

It honestly astounded me to see that my typical hair cut and color would cost be $250 back home in Florida, but here it was down so much. The hair cut alone was $60 and then the product I got was about $40, so in all I only spend $100 on my hair today. I am not complaining about that at all. It's about half what I would spend back at home. BRAVO!!!

I've trusted my hair to Trent for years now, as have a majority of my friends. There's not as much hair up there as there once was, but he still keeps me looking fresh. When he moved to Orbit, I followed, and it's such a cool, stylish downtown salon. Joe and Clay are great and Andy up front is always so super nice. 10/10 would recommend.
