No 1 Hair Braiding in Waldorf, MD

I'm new to this area and spent several weeks looking for a shop that could do crochet braid. I thank God that he led me to #1 Hair Braiding. Cynthia did an awesome job with my crochet style. She knocked it out of the ballpark!! I will definitely be back! Satisfaction is truly #1 Hair Braiding first goal!

My appointment was at 12 pm. Next thing I know, it's 1:30 and they still weren't done with the other clients. I don't know if they expected me to sit and wait for 2 hours just to sit 5+ more hours to get my hair braided but I left. My time is too important to be wasted. The other clients looked nice from what I saw though, at least they got to get their hair done.

They will quote you a different price for the same hairstyle each and every time you go. There is no consistency with braid size, braid quality, or braid length. I was quoted $180 for braids and 2 months later I took my daughter to get braids and I wanted them a little longer, I was quoted $350.00!! When I told her that was too much, she said she could do them shorter for $220. They were the same length that I had in my head for $180. As for quality, the braids look good but the ends look choppy on mine. My daughters braids were fat and made it look like she had on a hair helmet. They will get over on you any way that they can. Chose your stylist wisely.

update: august 22 went in for some braids that came out last week. drove far on saturday after calling only to be told they were busy and to come back the next day (sunday 8/22) at 10am. i get there and they say, "oh no. we're busy. oh. wait. i told you to coke today at 10am? okay okay." i wait for an HOUR before i finally decide to get up and leave. when i was leaving, one braider asked me if i could wait or if i had something to do. not only do i live far and have something to do, WHY IS THIS A QUESTION. someone shouldn't have something to do to not want to wait an hour for an APPOINTMENT they made and was told to come. when i told the braider i've already been waiting an hour and want to know how much longer, she says "give me an hour i have to finish this lady's hair" what the crap?! i had 5-7 braids that just needed to be thrown back in quickly. not wait on full heads to be done. this place is insane to me. and it's sad because i really wanted to try and give them a chance after earlier this month i'll never be returning to this unprofessional, untruthful "establishment"; i was quoted 180 so many times on the phone for bohemian braids. when i got to the appointment... which didn't start for 40 mins AFTER i arrived at my scheduled time (which they didn't seem to have any idea about??), i was quoted $100 more. mind you, this was after one braider told me the braids i wanted in a pic were too small. normally, this type of price is fine if i've been explained the costs and agreed beforehand. two braiders were really rude and aggressive about it, so i stood firm. mind you, this salon has you buy your own hair before the appointment. they do not factor that cost in. i paid $70 for my hair alone before the appointment. i have gone to a salon in DC who washes for $25 extra AND provides the hair with no service issues at all. --i spoke with the owner again on the phone once i was at the shop because the braiders called her. it's sad because her tune from helpful and happy the day prior had completely changed to a more stern/rude on the phone call from the shop--almost as an immediate defense mechanism to a customer who (in general, not me) could've just had questions, confusions, concerns, etc. for my case, she attempted some form of customer retention with a $20 discount. -after i finished speaking with her/the owner, i passed the phone back to the braiders. they all then began to unprofessionally discuss me to the owner and amongst themselves. i think these braiders think they're in a world of their own where only they understand the languages they're speaking. which for them, is an unfortunate false reality. so after their call with their owner, another 10 minutes has passed. it's now over an hour after my "scheduled appointment time". one of the braiders who was starting my hair seemingly gave up and went to keep working on another customer. i'll never be returning to this shop. i would rather drive the 40 mins to my old salon in DC and pay almost $200 more.
