Everyone is wonderful. Followed victor from nail time to new star. The place is stylish and clean. The pedicure foot rests could be a little more comfortable but the chairs are great.
this place is awesome. the eyebrow waxing is unmatched, and their gel stays on for AGES. so within budget. I've gone to salons that are way more "upgraded" and double the price where my gel chips after one week. IMO, it's really only the quality of the product that matters. also the owner is hysterical!
I came in to get my eyebrows done one day on a whim. I had an event and refused to go out with unruly eyebrows. Being that I am a Rutgers student the walk to the salon wasn't bad. While the place did not look the cleanest, I saw there were only two women working with about 4-5 women who we're getting their nails done. I asked to get my eyebrows waxed and she immediately told me the price and told me where to sit. She then METICULOUSLY waxed and shaped my eyebrows, while she didn't not ask me what shape I wanted, she waxed my eyebrows SUPER well! Not one hair was out of old place and they were even. I'm not sure that I would come here to get my nails done because there are so many nail techs around but if you need your eyebrows done, pop in!
I went in to get the gel removed from my nails and have a regular manicure without polish. The woman who did my nails cut me, twice. The place was messy, things thrown all over the place. The manicure price listed was $10. I was charged $20, so that's $10 to take off existing gel polish. I should have left when I saw the look of the place but I felt bad leaving so I stayed. Big mistake, do not go here.
After reading Yelp reviews I chose to come here, even though there were some not so spectacular ones. When you walk in, the salon isn't visually appealing, but if they can get the job done it doesn't matter to me. I asked for an acrylic set with a simple design and gel polish which was $50 and about what I expected to pay. Lisa and I had good conversation as she did my nails, and they turned out great. I then asked for a polish change on my toes in gel polish to match my fingers. The sign said $10 for polish change on toes, but since I got gel I expected it to be $15 MAYBE $20. When it was time to pay I was told it was $30 for a polish change on my toes! All the lady did was take my regular nail polish off and reapply gel polish, no cutting, filing, washing or anything! A regular pedicure is $20 and I had to pay $30 just for polish. $80 later I probably won't be going back even though I do love my nails.
