Moda Hair Salon in New Brunswick, NJ

First things first: my hair looks great. I got a single process color, cut and blowout. The shade of red I got is beautiful, but they did NOT need to bleach my roots (which added hours and money to the process). I've achieved much brighter reds at home with dye and developer. The price was outrageous. For the services I got done, I usually pay $190 at my usual salon. I paid $350!!! And that did not include the tip. This was my most expensive trip to the salon -- ever. There was a dog in the salon the entire time, and I had dye all over my neck, my ears and my forehead when I got out. I'm no stranger to getting my hair dyed (I usually keep it red) but the amount of dye I had on my skin just reflected the lack of attention to detail. For the price point, I would've expected more. More everything: attention to detail, professionalism and a better ambiance. Won't be returning. If you want to spend an exorbitant amount of money on a mediocre haircut and dye job, go ahead. I wouldn't recommend this place to students in the area however. If you're looking for a balayage or highlights, you might have a better experience than I did (most of the pictures on their site are of those kinds of dye). My hair might be on the website now, I remember some pictures being taken of my hair... I won't deny that it looks great, but my wallet was left hurting despite the fact that I had a mediocre experience and a tough time getting dye off my skin for the next week.

HORRIBLE PLACE. Guy who cut my hair did it completely wrong, did not do what I asked for at all. Cut way too much off and buzzed my sides when I did not ask for that at all. I look insane with the haircut he did, absolutely horrible. He was also rushing like crazy took him almost 5 minutes, avoid this place at all costs.

Leida (sp?) was great! She spent so much time with me making sure my hair was what both I wanted and she was happy with. I'm honestly shocked she was able to accomplish what she did in one day!! Natalie, the owner is super friendly and even got the salon coffee from down the street. Happy and clean environment with nice and happy people. Def my new salon!

Nope. Very poor service and their health and COVID safety precautions are appalling. I was the first appointment of the day and it was obvious they hadn't cleaned the place the previous day. Countertops were dirty, hair all over the floor, etc. Unbelievable. And, their methods for checking the temperature of clients were a joke (e.g., "the thermometer reads your temperature at 92 degrees...ha ha ha isn't that funny". Well no because that means it's broken and isn't reading anyone's temperature correctly. Get one that works). The staff member who processed my credit card was super surly, did not say thank you, and really seemed to hate her job. The person who cut my hair was fine, but overall I have no reason to return to this establishment.

Henri is a great stylist. I was able to get in with an immediate appointment. Henri knew what he was doing to my hair. I will def keep coming back!
