Nala's Natural Hair Salon in Buford, GA

I really wanted to support this salon regularly because it is very close to our house. However, that is not going to happen. My 13-year-old daughter wanted a sleek ponytail hairstyle. Courtney styled her hair as such, but the very next day, the ponytail came unglued. I immediately sent Courtney a picture, and she told me that she could fix it in 3 days... Sadly, she did not stand by her work and I guess she didn't care that the ponytail was half on/half off!

I'm giving a 3/neutral rating although I didn't have a chance to get my hair done here, I think it's important to share my experience. I was excited to try this salon because the styles look really nice on IG. However, my appointment was cancelled after I asked about the wheelchair accessibility of the salon. Yelp says that is accessible and the stylist responded to my text saying "the shop is wheelchair accessible but the suite isn't big and I'm not sure if I could accommodate you". I'm not sure what this means because if it is accessible then I should be able to get in. I let her know that I'd been to salon suites before but if this suite was smaller than the typical suite I wouldn't come. The next thing I know, I received a text from the booking platform saying that my appointment had been cancelled without any further response from the stylist. I may have been able to use my walker for a shorter distance or my husband may have been able to get me in. Who know it may not have worked at all but this should have been handled better.

I scheduled an appointment at Nala's on their scheduling platform. I scheduled it with Courtney Simpson. The site allowed me to schedule it for 4 PM. On the day of the appointment, I got an email that stated my 9 AM appointment was canceled. That email was sent at 2 AM. I call the shop to see what happened as I had ab appointment at 4. Courtney called me back stating that it was impossible for me to have an appointment at 4 because she closes at 5 and that my appointment was at 9. She stated that she canceled it because she wasn't taking any new appointments. As I was trying to explain how her system did allow me to make the appoint me she was talking over me and then hung up in my face. She was very unprofessional and I will never use or recommend this salon.

Courtney is professional, knowledgeable, fast and makes the experience very enjoyable. She makes sure that you leave happy and is great at suggesting alternative styles.

First and foremost Courtney is so cool omg. Besides just getting my hair done I had a really good time talking to her. Now on to my hair. I asked for one thing and received something different BUT, she's a professional and she knew what was best for my hair so I'm not mad about it at all. In fact I'm happy I listened to her advice. My Locs are clean, maintained and it's not to tight at all. I can definitely see returning to get my hair done again. Very very good experience. I'm happy to say the least.
